Blurb

Sequel to Plastic Hearts...

Can a relationship survive on love alone? Is love truly enough?

Dane and Alex’s relationship has never been easy, but now they have a fresh start without the pressures

of Alex’s family. Together they try to move forward while continuing to struggle with a past that they

can’t seem to escape.

Sometimes no matter how hard we try to make things work, love isn’t enough.

Sometimes even after a broken heart is mended, cracks remain, and the same doubts and insecurities

that once yanked us apart seep in.

Can true love hold Dane and Alex together or will their hearts completely shatter like glass?

Review

4.5 stars!!!!

And here I thought that Plastic Hearts tore at my insides. This author really knows how to pen a well-written, heart wrenching, kick me in the gut story. Oh my goodness….where do I begin??? First, if you haven’t read Plastic Hearts, run…walk…whatever….go grab it now and read it. You won’t be disappointed.
This is a continuation of Alex & Dane’s story. Both of these two young people are so much older than their years. Life keeps throwing crap their way, but they manage to remain strong and feed off of their love for each other. I really love how this author writes and not only that, but the words. This is such a heartfelt story….hence the titles which are so fitting.

“God, I need you,” she whispers. I swear my chest might explode. It’s good to feel needed without having to actually hold that person up. We’re equals…equally torn and somewhat put together. It’s a bond most people think only exists on a movie screen, but we have it.

Dane is a shell of a man, but when he’s with Alex he feels whole and lets her really see him. She completes him in ways he never thought. He knows love for the first time in his life and he wants to have it forever. He has traveled a very hard, difficult road and to watch him become a better person did my heart good. Alex is a fighter, she’s stronger than she gives herself credit for and I really admired her. Dane brings out the best in her. She’s seen all of him, the good, the bad and the damaged soul that he is. They have some struggles to work through in this story and I knew they would. Life can’t be so easy. Alex and Dane definitely have their ups & downs.

“Do you know what drew me to you?’ I could feel her breathing against my lips. I wanted to kiss her, but I also wanted to tell her what I had to say because she needed to know why I picked her. I could’ve had any girl I wanted, but this one was “the one.”
“When I looked in your eyes, I saw myself. There was something about the power of your smile that didn’t reach your eyes, I wanted to make your eyes smile. I knew I had to have you and I would do anything to get you,” I admit, pressing a kiss to her lips.

How could you not fall in love with this guy yourself?? I sure did!! This book tugged at all of my emotions. I felt love, acceptance, happiness, frustration and I want to kick someone’s butt. The secondary characters….Dane’s brother, Nolan, his mother, and Alex’s parents add to the hurt in their relationship. But Alex’s friend, Jade is a friend in the truest sense of the word. I really, really liked this girl.

I want more! And I was very happy with the way this book ended. I couldn’t put this book down once I picked it up yesterday. I am looking forward to future books by this author. Thank you for giving me such a great story to read!
