Becoming the personal assistant for Jack McMillan was a dream come true and a huge relief for a pregnant Emma. After being left by her first love after finding out she is pregnant, Emma must find a way to provide for herself and her son, Logan. So when the position of personal assistant to sexy, rich, and powerful Jack is offered-she hops on it. For years she takes care of herself while mending the broken heart of her first love.
Eventually, Emma's walls start to come down. She begins to see Jack as more than a boss, and as the someone she wants in every way possible-but can't have.
Jack is THE typical playboy. No more than 3 dates, never getting close to anyone, arrogant, and sexy as hell. What he's never been is in a commitment or out of control. Now, Emma is going to dinner with someone else and his feelings are unfamiliar. What happens when Jack finds himself jealous? Can Emma overcome here fear of becoming another one of his flings? What happens when Logan's dad reenters the picture?
This book was a roller coaster ride! I loved, hated, cried, laughed, and read super fast at some parts to find out what's coming next! The feelings that Emma has are so raw it's hard not to feel for her when she's heartbroken. I also loved the relationship that Logan had with all the characters.
What I really loved is that though the focus was on the main characters, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the supporting ones also. I could definitely see reading books about Dean and Marcus-they were both amazing guys that had me laughing throughout the book.
Overall the book was a definite positive surprise. I thought it would be another typical "hot CEO gets the hurt girl" book but it had it's own twists and turns that made it unique and definitely enjoyable.
