To ease the pain, Darcy flies to Belize over the holidays fully intending to wallow in self-pity and distance herself from her ex. Her pity party is short-lived however, after observing a very handsome, very intriguing man on the beach. Darcy becomes the focus of the smokin' hot, wealthy and somewhat mysterious 'E.J.'

Soon she finds herself entangled with an alpha like no other… Her world is rocked by a series of events that will forever change the course of her life, showing her what love is all about; and forcing her to come to terms with hidden sexual pleasures only one man could fulfill…

EXCERPT:

“He omitted the fact that I looked a lot like the last woman he may actually have truly cared for. I mean, yeah, he told me that I wasn’t anything like Lacee... but what about Bianca friggin’ Templeton? And then he just walks out of my life, expecting me to never have figured it out and call him out on that kind of bullshit? Yeah... fuck that andfuck him. It’s time a woman takes him down a few pegs.”

“Careful, sweetheart.” Eli replied, as he leaned up against my bedroom dresser, “You’re starting to sound like one of those ‘Hell hath no fury like a lover scorned’ girls who sit up in their attic, planning some poor schmuck’s demise.”

I considered that for a good second, looking down at the carpet. “This isn’t about that, Eli.” I finally said. “It’s about being lied to by someone who was clearly using me as a stand-in for...what? Prolong an ended relationship? To use me as some sort of fantasy in bed, so he can fuck ‘the one that got away’?” I looked back over at him.

He shrugged. “I don’t know. And maybe it’s better that we don’t know.” He walked over to me, putting his hands on my shoulders, “I don’t get it. One minute, I could swear you love the guy; the next minute you’ve got this “evil vixen” thing going that I can’t comprehend.”

I couldn’t say anything to that. I didn’t even fully understand why I was reacting the way I was.

Eli pulled away from me, crossing his arms. “A piece of advice, Darce? When it comes fucking someone over... Don’t fuck with someone who knows how to fuck you harder.”

REVIEW:

I love Andrea's G MAN series, and Easton just took the spot as my favorite G MAN!  I love how Easton was a player and didn't initially fall all over the girl like in most books and instantly change his ways, and declare his undying love....it made it seem more realistic.  Easton was this cocky, sexy, player, alpha male that was used to women falling all over themselves for him and when he meet the sassy Darcy, well Easton got put in his place. 4.5 stars!!

"I was on fire for this man and wasn't sure why aside from the obvious....he was sexy, single and gorgeous."

In Night Moves (book #3) we meet Darcy Nicole Sheridan, a spoiled daddy’s girl who right off the bat gets her heart broken by her low-down dirty, cheating boyfriend.....she catches him in bed with another women. Darcy is Lindsey's best friend so we were introduced to her in the other books.  So, Darcy packs up and tries to heal her broken heart, she heads to Belize and meets the sexy, playboy Easton Matthews aka E.J. he's half-British and wealthy. Easton just happens to be in Belize with his assistant Lacee who surprise, surprise is also his friends with benefits.  There is an instant chemistry between Easton and Darcy and they both feel it but Easton doesn't want to be her rebound guy.

He was quietly ruining me, wrecking me, shattering me on a low pulse for any other man. He owned me, and I was happily being captured.’

Darcy returns home and once back in the states she crossed paths with Easton again.  Easton just happens to be Taz's (Lindsey's fiance) half-brother.  What are the odds? Guess who is tagging along with Easton? Yep, Lacee.  So, Easton sends Lacee packing once he decides he wants Darcy as his new toy.  Soon, Easton takes over Darcy's father’s company and offers to mentor her professionally. Of course, Easton is persistent and it's not long before Easton is teaching Darcy in and out of the office and Darcy is falling hard. Easton has been burnt in the past and had a horrible childhood.  The jaded playboy does not think he is capable of love....but is he willing to give Darcy what she needs?

It'll never be over. This thing we have . . . this complicated and beautiful thing that you and I share with one another? I won't allow it to be finished because I do love you in spite of my black heart and my flawed emotions."

Night moves kept me hooked from the very start.  It was smoldering hot, heart-wrenching, and shattering.  I loved how we got to catch up with the characters from the previous books in Night Moves.  I highly recommend you read this series......Slate, Taz, and now Easton....what's not to love?

Remy by Katy Evans ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Book Title: Remy

Author: Katy Evans

Date of Publication: November 26, 2013

Publisher: Gallery Books

Blog Tour Hosted by: The SUBClub Books

Synopsis

Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.

Through it all, there's been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he's ever had to fight for.

TEASER FOUR:

We go toe-to-toe. I feint and Hammer swings, opening his side. So I jab his ribs, feel the satisfying punch race up my arm, and we bounce apart. Hammer is stupid in the head. He falls for all my feints and never covers right. I ram him hard enough to make him bounce on the ropes and drop to his knees. He shakes his head and hops to his feet after a moment. I love this. My heart pumps slowly. My every muscle knows where to move, what to do, where to send my power—right from my center, up my chest, shoulder, down the length of my arms, to the tips of my fucking knuckles that hit with the force of a charging bull.

I take him down, and then I do the same with the next foe. And the next.

A powerful energy takes over me as I fight, and I fight knowing that Brooke Dumas watches me. If there’s anything in my head other than winning, it’s that I want her to think inside that lovely round head of hers that she has never, ever, seen a man like me.

By the time the tenth guy falls, sweat coats my chest, and as the ringmaster raises my arm, I’m anxious to see the look in her eyes. I want to see that she liked it, that she—like everyone else in this room—thinks I’m the shit. Our eyes lock, my gut goes hard and twisted and wild with desire, and I smile at her as I try to catch my breath.

When the ringmaster releases my arm, I cross the ring, jump over the cord, and land in the aisle, watching her part her lips in shock as I come over.

People go crazy when I go outside the ring, and they’re losing their shit right now.

The whole room screams with their applause and cheers. And I know they all can see where my gaze rests and where I’m headed.

“Kiss his heart out, woman!”

“You don’t deserve him, you bitch!”

“You go, girl!”

I smile down at this woman who has stolen my thoughts, and as I wonder if she wants me to, she looks pleadingly up at me, almost begging me not to kiss her here. My blood simmers as I remember her lips on mine, but it won’t be happening again.

Not until you’re ready, Brooke Dumas.

I bend to her and scent her hair, whispering at her temple, “Sit tight. I’ll send someone over for you.”

I back off before I lose it, and climbing up into the ring, I steal one last look at her. My chest does all kinds of strange things when our eyes lock.

“Riptide, people!” the announcer screams.

The yells feed me. I suck them in with a smile, full of pride and satisfaction. I can see in every one of these people’s eyes that I’m the man. But I want to see it in her eyes. That. I’m. The Man.

The man who wants to be hers.

Review

You know I love Remy and his caveman, alpha male, crazy tendencies....I love Remy hardcore. There was no doubt this book started off strong for me, I loved being in Remy's head, then it just became a bit repetitive and a little too much. Remy's POV could've been blended with Real and Mine for a better effect. Now don't take this the wrong way, because I really, really adore REAL and MINE, there are no words to describe how EPIC those books are. I definitely recommend this series, I just felt there was too much past and not enough present. 3.5 stars

"She's given me love in ways no one in my life ever has. I had never known someone could love me until she loved me."

Remy is basically a retelling of major scenes in Real and Mine through Remy's POV.  The majority of the time is spent in Real, although we do get glimpses of Brooke and Remy in the present.  I loved reading Remy's thoughts on the first time he meet Brooke and actual seeing how he felt about her, it explained a lot about his actions and how he needed Brooke.

My likes:
I love Remy and Brooke as a couple, I love seeing how Brooke was the first person to show Remy love and how he expressed his love for her through music. I love Remy's protective nature and the glimpses of the present we got.

My dislikes:
While I understand that Remy has mental issues....it still dumbfounded me how he could say such sweet, sweet things one minute and then do something crazy the next.  My examples,  the whole scenting thing became too much, the use of the word "mate" as sex,  and the whole reference to a lion....I get this makes him seem more primal but ummmm no. Then the use of the "f" word.....I have no problem with this but this; "I taste her ear. I fuck it." ummmm double no.

My favorite quote:
"You're mine.My obsession. My dreams. My hope. My heart," he whispers. "

The series is really epic. Even with my issues I had with Remy, I will definitely be reading the rest of this series......actually, I really can't wait to see more of the other characters.

SUMMARY

He's addicted to booze. She's addicted to sex...staying sober is only half the battle.
No. More. Sex.
Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation—sleeping in the same bed, for real, together—Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo’s bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body.
Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily’s secret to her family and the public, he promises that he’ll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety.
They will torment Lily until Lo breaks.
And his worst fear isn’t relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words.
No. More. Us.

Excerpt #3 – Addicted for Now (Addicted #2)

LILY CALLOWAY’S POV

Once I have a handle on controlling the things that tempt me, it’ll be better. Today’s just not a good day.

I am overly aroused.

“You don’t have to talk to the male models,” Lo reminds me.

Too late.

“I thought you said you were at your desk,” he says.

“I am.”

“Then how come I don’t see you?”

He’s here? I can’t even crawl out from underneath my desk anymore, not even to greet Lo and Rose.

Because everyone by the muffins will laugh and look at me funny for being down here. I just want to stay

hidden until they all leave.

“Maybe,” I say, “because your superpower is to turn me invisible.”

He pauses. “That’s a horrible power. Take it back.”

Review

4 Stars

The Addicted series so far has been amazingly heart wrenching and hot to read, I love it!!!!

In Addicted to You we met Lily Calloway and Loren "Lo" Hale.  Both trust fund babies, nobody would ever suspect the lies, deceit, and pain that each of them go through daily.  They've been best friends forever and are the only two people who know each other's secrets.  They both have an addiction.
Lily is addicted to sex.  She craves it.  She needs it.  It drowns out all of her pain.
Lo is an alcoholic.  He uses it to cope with life.  It drowns out all of his pain.
Together, they've hid their addictions by pretending to be the perfect couple.  Nobody knows that Lily hooks up in bar bathrooms while Lo drinks until he passes out daily.
As they fall deeper and deeper into their addictions they realize that the only constant good in their lives are each other. When their addictions are discovered by others they cling to each other and realize they have another addiction-each other.

In Richochet we watch both Lily and Lo struggle with beating their addiction.  With Lo gone to rehab Lily must be celibate for 90 days.  On top of fighting their addictions new insecurities seep into the relationship.  Will they still need each other when they're "better"?

Addicted for You has to be my favorite book of the 3 so far.  With Lo out of rehab they can finally focus on moving forward in their lives and learn to live without their vices.  Lily struggles with her sex addiction more than ever now that Lo is back within her reach.  Not being able to jump him whenever she wants, trying to stay within boundaries of "normal sex" is a minute by minute struggle.
When a new threat is brought to their attention Lily and Lo need each other, their friends, and family more than ever. Lo knows he loves Lily more than anything and will do anything to protect her, but the pressure is almost too much and does nothing but make him want to drink again.

These books are SO PAINFUL to read-but in a good way.  I love the alternating point of view between Lily and Lo because I could truly feel how much they were hurting, every emotion that caused them to want to give into their vices.  The love that Lily and Lo felt for each other was so deep rooted.  They are each others best friends, only confidant, and lifelines-but they know they're bad for each other at the same time.  They feed each others addictions to get their own.  The struggle that each of them go through hurt to read but had me rooting for them to end up together.

I also loved the friends and family within the book.  Their personalities were all so different and had me laughing at the dry sense of humor  throughout the dialogue.  I cannot wait to read each of their books too!

Overall this series has been AMAZING!  I loved everything about it.  While it wasn't your typical happy romance at all it made you feel more emotion and empathy for the characters then most books that I read.  Definite must read series!

The Penance of Black Betty by Kelli Maine ~ Blog Tour

 Synopsis

Alistair Ingram is finally the man he wants to be, with the woman he wants to be with. No longer ruled by his manager, producer, agent or fans’ desires, he and Bethany “Black Betty” Stavars have settled into his LA mansion and have started a life together. Everything is as it should be…until he gets the call that Bethany has been brutally attacked in their home.

Alistair can barely stand to see Bethany’s bruised and battered body, but that’s not the worst of her injuries. She regains consciousness thinking she’s still married to her ex-husband—the man responsible for putting her in the hospital in the first place—and has no recollection of being with Alistair.

Unable to coax her brain into giving her any memories of the past ten years of her life, Bethany struggles to comprehend how she could’ve ended up on the other side of the country—California instead of Florida—and living with superstar actor, Alistair Ingram. Even worse, how had she become a dominatrix at a Vegas men’s’ club?

Lucky for her, the past few months have been detailed in black and white newsprint in every gossip magazine she can get her hands on.

With their relationship hanging in the balance, there’s only one thing Alistair can do. Jog her memory the best way he knows how. In bed

Review

This is a very short novella that continues the story of Alistair Ingram and Bethany "Black Betty" Stavars from The Submission of Alistair Ingram.  It basically picks right back up where the last novella left off.  While Alistair is away filming his new movie with his "ex-fiancé", Bethany is brutally attacked in their home.  Alistair rushes to be by her side, but when Bethany wakes up she has no memory of Alistair.  She has lost ten years of her life, she believes she is still married to the abusive ex who attacked her and also doesn't remember her time as "Black Betty".  Alistair promises not to leave Bethany's side and support her and helps her remember.  All Bethany knows is, Alistair is this famous movie star that her mind doesn't remember, but her body remembers him.  It's not long before the chemistry between these two is back and little bits and pieces of their life together comes back to Bethany.  Will Bethany remember her past and how will she deal with all the hardships and the person she has become?

The Penance of Black Betty was sweet, saucy, and sexy! Like I mentioned before, this is a very short novella that continues Alistair and Black Betty's story.  I definitely enjoy reading these, but I will be glad when we can get the complete series.

Excerpt

He laughs, a velvety sound. “Babe, I could show you a bunch of things you’ve never done. And I guarantee, you’d like every one of them.”

For some reason, I have no doubt of that. It’s an exciting thought.

He bends his head and nips at my neck, then soothes the bite with a soft suck. His lips, so soft and smooth, ease the pain of the bite away. His nearness is intoxicating and everything about him screams that he is capable of so many things… things that would please me… things that would embarrass me in the light of day.

But still, I don’t move. I stay right with him, my gaze frozen on his.

Keeping his eyes on mine, he slowly dips his head and plunges his tongue into my mouth, completely plundering it, consuming me yet again. It’s like he can’t kiss me without devastating all of my senses at once, annihilating my thoughts and causing my blood to throb as it all races toward one destination… the V between my legs.

Right where I ache for him.

He’s like a drug….and one taste just isn’t enough.

I open up my mouth and breathe around his lips, sucking in air, grasping at his back and pulling him closer. He reaches back and grabs my hands, holding them together at my wrists and pinning them over my head against the plexi-glass gondola cage. I’m trapped here with him, yet there’s no place I’d rather be.

The energy around us now is primal and raw…and it’s exhilarating too, because we’re out in public. Every time the gondola swoops along the ground before it begins its ascent upward again, anyone could look in and see what we’re doing. They could see Dominic pinning me against the wall, and his other hand buried in my crotch, if only they looked closely.

Honestly, I think he might like that idea.

“What are you doing?” I finally manage to whisper, pulling away just ever so slightly.

His eyes are a little unfocused, his pupils dilated. “What would you like for me to do, Jacey?”

He knows. Oh, God, he knows. He knows exactly what I’d like for him to do.

Excerpt
Tears form at the corner of my eyes as the full brunt of Dornan’s obsession with me becomes apparent. He left me here for this. He asked me who my ex-boyfriend was, and then proceeded to travel across the country to kidnap an innocent boy from his house. A boy who has never laid eyes on me, a boy who I found online and added to Sammi’s backstory for credibility.
A boy who kneels in front of me with a gun pointed at his head.
I struggle against Chad’s stronghold, but it is useless. The guy is built, and he’s probably been snorting the white powder with daddy all the way home.
I bite down on Chad’s hand and he pulls it away, yelling at me.
“He’s not my ex!” I scream, fighting against Chad’s rigid embrace.
Dornan looks at me like a man possessed. A man on a mission.
“I lied,” I gasp, still struggling. “I’ve never met him before. Please, just let him go.”
Dornan lowers his gun and looks me up and down. “You don’t have to be scared of him anymore,” he says. He lifts the gun, his finger putting pressure on the trigger.
“Please!” I scream.
My pleas go unheeded.
He pulls the trigger.

Testament by Katie Ashley ~ Release Day Blitz and Giveaway

Title: Testament
Author: Katie Ashley
Published: Nov. 22, 2013

Five years ago, catastrophic earthquakes, massive floods, and violent storms caused the collapse of the global economy and a massive political upheaval. In a world thrown into chaos after The Great Fall, greedy CEO’s enforce the Golden Rule—whoever has the most gold, rules the land. Any hint of rebellion against the domineering government ends in either death or imprisonment.

Fiery and beautiful Cadence O’Bryant has trouble keeping silent against the new order, a trait that often lands her in trouble. Having lost her parents to rebellion, her life now is about survival. She despises the new order of life and wishes for time to turn back to when life held order, and love was a possibility, not an impossible dream. Her worst nightmare comes in the form of the Emperor’s decree—all young women are to compete in a competition of beauty, intelligence, and most of all obedience, for his son, Kellan’s, hand in marriage. Cadence fears not only to lose herself to the male dominated society that now prevails, but also that hers and her brother, Griffin’s, secret will be revealed, which would be a death sentence.

Determined and handsome Micah Greene harbors an even deeper secret than the fact he is in love with his best friend’s sister, Cadence. The secret is one his father died to protect, but it’s also one that unites him to Cadence and their cause. On the eve of their separation, Micah reveals his heart to Cadence. But is it too late? Is it possible he might lose the woman he loves to his nemesis, Kellan Quinn, the Emperor’s son.

Will Cadence be chosen by Kellan, or will she be able to choose her future? Will Kellan’s sexy good looks and promise of stability tempt Cadence to fall for the future Emperor and hurt her one true friend. Passion is burning, but for whom will it burn the brightest for?

As revolution brews in the province, love may need to take a back seat. Will Cadence have the option to love either man, or will she have to fight for everything she’s ever loved, including her freedom?

A flicker of the red velvet curtain gave me a peek at the enormous crowd. My stomach instantly lurched and fluttered. No, no, no! I couldn’t allow myself to get nervous. Being nervous would break my concentration, and I couldn’t let anything do that. I had to focus.

Of course, being slightly nervous didn’t help my sometimes klutziness. Since I hadn’t been in heels in years, I hadn’t thought to take the proper precautions like scuffing them. The moment my heels hit the freshly waxed stage, I skidded. When I tried to gain my footing, my legs ended up sliding back in forth like I was on snow skis while my arms flew out to protect myself in case I fell. Icy embarrassment pricked at my skin as I quickly recovered.

“Very graceful,” Chandra muttered behind me.

I jerked my chin up and chose to ignore her. Instead, it took every fiber within me to concentrate on making it to my mark on the stage. As soon as I found my spot, I gazed out into the packed crowd. My eyes skittered across the unfamiliar faces, desperately seeking out Griff or Micah. Finally, I found them in the fourth row of the reserved family section. Just the sight of their faces sent calm washing over me.

My eyes were drawn to the first row where Kellan sat outfitted in a tux with a blood red rose in the lapel. He appeared anything but thrilled at the proceedings. His eyes locked with mine, and he arched a blond eyebrow almost mockingly. It took my mind a moment to process what had just happened. He didn’t do it to any of the other girls who were desperately trying to make eye contact with him. So why did he do it to me? I mean, we barely knew each other. The day he’d wrapped up my hand was the longest conversation we had ever had. So instead of diverting my eyes like I should, I smirked at him. I mean, who was he to look at me like that?

One by one we were called to Guy, the host. Each girl tried as best she could to make the most of her walk down the stage. Everything hinged on impressing Kellan and Richard with beauty and charm. I doubted the interview portion mattered at all.

As each girl stood beside Guy, he posed inane questions about what makes a good wife or what does a woman have to give the world. They appeared to be the same question just posed in different ways. I don’t know why I was surprised. After all, they were looking for obedient, if not vapid answers, from a pretty face.

Finally, it was my turn. I drew in a deep breath and strode confidently down the stage. I locked eyes with Griff, and he bobbed his head encouragingly. Any nervousness I might have felt dissipated.

Guy smiled at me. “Cadence, what do you feel a woman’s place is in the world?”

I shifted on my feet. Mentally, I had been preparing for this type of question with each girl who had been called. I could recite word for word what I knew they wanted to hear. But that wasn’t an option. Laurel’s words echoed in my mind, ‘Richard may want a woman to be seen and not heard, but I know Kellan doesn’t.’

An old memory flashed in my mind. It was saying my mother had on the bulletin board in her office at the university. Something about woman’s place was in the house, but it was the White House, State House, and House of Representatives. Even though those things didn’t exist anymore, it was something I could work from. I drew back my shoulders and smiled convincingly. “Oh, I believe a woman’s place is in the house.”

Guy leaned forward, his expression bent on urging me to continue.

“Well, I believe a woman belongs in every government and financial house in the land. One only has to look at history to see the great contributions women once made.”

“But surely—” he tried interrupting, but I plowed right on ahead.

“At one time, women held degrees in subjects like law and medicine. They healed the sick and fought for the rights of others. They gave of themselves beyond their front doors. I believe it was once said that behind every great man, there was a greater woman.”

Guy paled under his thick coating of stage makeup. He twisted the cards in his hands while casting a worried glance at Richard. “Well, uh, yes, that’s true, but at the same time, our world fell. Women are needed for more important things like procreating our new race.”

I smiled sweetly. “That is true.” I locked eyes with Richard. “And I hope to have a house full of children someday,” I remarked, playing off the ‘house’ pun of my question. His dark expression lightened at my response while nervous laughter twittered around him.

“So, um, thank you Cadence.”

“And thank you, Guy,” I replied, with the goofy smile still plastered on my face.

We were then herded backstage to await our fate. As other girls primped and preened in front of the lighted mirrors, I wrung my hands and paced the floor. Had I done the right thing by following Laurel’s advice? Or was my potentially feminist rant a deal-breaker for Richard?
