Book synopsis:

Life may not turn out like we planned, but sometimes that’s what makes it perfect…

Hadley Foster has always been a planner. But, since the age of nineteen, things haven’t exactly gone according to plan… not at all. And the changes continue to mount when a trip to Europe with her best friend starts a domino effect in all aspects of her life. Suddenly, the future she had envisioned for herself seems unlikely to happen. It’s time to make a new plan… or accept the dominoes as they fall.

Jason Kelly has a great life. He’s a successful self-published writer who’s living his dreams. But, something is missing. Hadley Foster. Letting her slip through his fingers is one of his biggest regrets. Over time, he had to accept the idea of being without his first love as he watched her fall in love with someone else.

When circumstances bring Jason and Hadley back into one another’s lives, they’re forced to deal with their past, their present and the possibility of a future together.

Review

Crazy t-shirt guy has a name (sorry if you read Champagne Toast, you meet him there and he just stuck in my head as crazy t-shirt guy) and it's Jason, he's perfect....he's one of the good guys and I'm in love! Melissa has outdone herself and this is my favorite book of hers so far! Picturing Perfect made me laugh, cry, upset, and giddy! 4.5 stars

Hadley Foster thought she had her life planned out. She planned to marry her long term boyfriend Tucker, become a teacher and even had the number and sex of her children planned out.  Sometimes life doesn't always happen like we plan it, and Hadley has to learn that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade! One fateful night changes everything and Hadley's' relationship with Tucker is put to the test and she questions whether Tucker is really her future.

Jason Kelly is Hadley's best-friend's brother.  She reconnects with him and forms a friendship but she never forgot the girlhood crush she had on him.  I loved Jason, such a sweet and caring guy.....he was kind of the underdog....the author with glasses, and crazy t-shirts, who was somewhat geeky. You could tell Jason really, truly cared about Hadley and I caught myself rooting for them and invested in their relationship.  I loved to catch glimpses of their past and watch their history of falling in love together. The big question is with all the unexpected changes in Hadley's life, will the planner in her be able to forget her plans and accept the route that fate has chosen for her? You have to read the book and find out!

Picture Perfect is such a sweet, heart-felt, romantic story. I recommend this to anyone looking for the perfect romance novel. Even though this can be read as a stand alone, I suggest you don't miss out on Melissa's other heartwarming stories and read Bouquet Toss and Champagne Toast also.
