Synopsis
Tick, tick, tock.
Time.
That’s all I have now.
A small room, a photograph, and time.
They want me to trust them and confess my sins.
They told me they wouldn't judge me—they lied.
I thought we could convince the world that this wasn't a crime.
We were wrong.
Time doesn't stand still.
The clock keeps ticking, the world is unconvinced, and now…
Now he is gone.

Excerpt One – Mr. McKendrick’s POV

I couldn’t believe she’d followed me home.
I was sitting in my truck with my hands wrapped around the steering wheel. I
could see her in the rearview mirror, and my heart pounded in my chest as I thought
I’d purposely waited to leave until she had gone home. It had been quite the wait,
but I couldn’t afford to put myself within close quarters of this girl.
She was undisciplined and clearly had never heard the word no in her life. She
wanted things she couldn’t have, and I needed to make that much clearer than in our
I could see the hood of her car peeking out from behind one of the neighbor’s
hedges and wished I could forget she was there, but this time she had crossed too many
lines. She needed to know that this behavior could not continue.
Pushing open my truck door, I climbed out and locked it before walking down the
drive. I strode purposefully along the sidewalk and tried to think of exactly what I was
going to say to this student of mine.
Please stop following me? Please stop hitting on me?
They both sounded ridiculous, and I realized that at this point the word please
needed to be thrown right out the fucking window.
Polite wasn’t going to work with Addison Lancaster. It was time to get serious,
maybe even mean, because this girl had the ability to destroy me.
Review
I adore Ella Frank, so when I got the chance to read Veiled Innocence, I immediately said YES!!! I absolutely love everything I read by her and Veiled Innocence was no different. A definite 4.5 star read!
I don't want to give away a lot on the story line. I liked going in with only the synopsis provided by the author, that didn't reveal much at all. It kept it mysterious and a blank slate so I didn't have any expectations. What I did love was how we learned the whole story by piecing together the past and present as they collided. The story kept me guessing and I read the whole thing in ONE sitting! I absolutely LOVED what Ella Frank did with the main characters. They were so human, so strong, yet so weak. LOVE LOVE LOVE them - and the story and passion between the two of them? AH-mazing.
“I told you. When you look at me, you see more." I cradled his face in my hands and let my eyes roam over him. "And when I look at you, I see for the first time the possibility of everything.”
All of that said - I loved this book. Not a big surprise, since Ella Frank is one of my go-to-authors when I'm in a reading slump . I wish the ending would have given me more, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed there will be a sequel, an epilogue and the epilogue, anything really - that would make my life complete! Definitely must read this book! Hot, sexy, emotional, and mysterious - you can't go wrong with that!!

I am first and foremost a proud Australian, but currently reside in Texas with my husband.
I love to read and write contemporary and erotic romances, but I also like to step outside of the box at times when it comes to telling a story that really speaks to me.
I absolutely adore dessert. I could skip the main meal and head straight to the dessert line every time…especially anything that is covered in caramel.
I am a GLEEK (yes I admit it… So? It makes me happy), on the other hand I love Dexter and he makes me happy too, so analyze that!
I love to sing really bad at the top of my lungs, and I often have conversations with myself.
Some of my favorite authors include; JR Ward, Tiffany Reisz, Nalini Singh, Lori Foster, Lauren Dane, SJ Frost and many more.
Last but certainly not least, I am the author of The Exquisite Series, Blind Obsession and most recently Try.
