Scare Crow by Julie Hockley ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Nineteen-year-old Emily Sheppard is losing her sanity.

Ever since her mob king boyfriend, Cameron Hillard, abandoned her for her own good, Emmy has been attempting to move on with her charmed college student life as if nothing happened. Now rejected from the underworld and left grieving over Cameron’s alleged death.

Emmy realizes she belongs nowhere. Worse yet, she is now keeping a dangerous secret.

After just a short time with Emily, Cameron has lost control over his world. As he miserably attempts to return to what is left of his life and unravel the mess he has made of the underworld, Emily’s hate turns to desperation. She needs to kill the kingpins responsible for Cameron’s death before they come looking for her. As Cameron secretly observes Emily, he has no idea of the danger he has placed her in—or that it may already be too late for him to save her.

Scare Crow is a tale of revenge, terror, and love as Emmy and Cameron embark on separate journeys to face enemies, correct past mistakes, and find their way to their destinies.

 Crows Row/Scare Crow Trailer!

I was one of the fortunate ones, I read Crow's Row not that long ago so I didn't have quite the wait for Scare Crow as everyone else did. I loved Scare Crow and really enjoyed the anticipation...the build up of Cameron and Emmy meeting again, that had me clinging to the edge of my seat. 4 stars.

"Go get her, and do what?" Have her stay here as a sitting target? Wait 'til someone else has it in for us and takes it out on her? She's not meant for this shit life."

*Do not read further if you have not read Crow's Row*

Scare Crow is the continuation of the story of Emmy and Cameron, it is a MUST that you read Crow's Row before reading Scare Crow. After Crow's Row left us with a cliff hanger that had me wanting to pull my hair out, I dived right into this story as soon as it arrived in my Inbox! At the beginning of this story, Emmy thinks that she has lost the love her life Cameron, and let's face it....she is suffering and not in a good place. She has no money, no friends, basically no one, and she refuses to ask for help from her patents who basically have nothing to do with her. Little does Emmy know, that Cameron is alive and also struggling....he's struggling to move on with his life, struggling to stay away from the girl he loves and keep her safe, and struggling to keep his place as leader and maintain his business and respect.

Then, Griff shows up on the scene (sent by Carly) to keep Emmy safe. Griff slowly starts to help Emmy live again, and agrees to help her with the revenge she so desperately seeks. Soon a big secret is revealed for Cameron and for Emmy, things will never be the same....and things are left to be continued in book 3!

"If Cameron had, or had my heart, then Griff had my soul."

"Where do we go from here? I wondered."

This is a series that is definitely worth a reading! Crow's Crow/Scare Crow is a love story yes...but also a shocking page-turner that drew me in right from the start! I still have a ton of questions, and some things are left unanswered. Even though book 2 didn't end on a cliffhanger, there will be a book 3 ( no release date yet) that I am anxiously looking forward to reading. Crossing fingers and toes for Cameron and Emmy to get a HEA!

*Review by Brandi

A former germaphobe and clean-freak turned mother of two, Julie collects enough tears and snot in a month to recreate Slimer Monster from Ghostbusters. Other than playing devoted wife and mama, Julie is the funniest person in the room (according to the 3 year-old and 2 year-old in said room) and can build the most awesome Lego rocket ship you’ve ever set your eyes on (according to her). Oh, and she has a full time career and has also written a bestselling novel. Superhero, or just downright insane?
