The attraction between these two is push....pull. And I got right into this story from the beginning. I needed to find out for myself if things went the way I hoped they would.
Alexis Cole & Ryder Hayes have known each other since their childhood & their families blended. She has always had a crush on him, but he fought the attraction they both felt secretly for each other. They spent some years apart, but Ryder comes back into her life unexpectedly because he needed to see his father, her step-dad.
Alexis has had to deal with losing someone that was her other half & she's trying as best she can. She's been floating in limbo for the past three years since this happened & has been going through the motions. But when she sees Ryder, standing in her home, the light in her eyes doesn't go unnoticed. Ryder has grown into a hot, ripped man as an MMA fighter. I could practically see what he looked like from the descriptions of him as I turned the pages. Yup, make sure you keep a cold drink handy. You're going to need it.
Both Alexis & Ryder are broken, like Humpty Dumpty. Alexis is struggling with the guilt and loss of a loved one; Ryder has been dealing with his own struggles since he had to be the one to pick up his mom after his dad left them for another. Can these two be put back together and become whole again? Has the years that they haven't seen each other been too long to deny what they felt & couldn't act upon at that time?
Circumstances unite these two and while there are some people that want to keep them apart, can they find what they both desperately want and need. Sometimes, you just have to stand up and fight for yourself and what you want. Fight for Me is a steamy, sexy read mixed with healing and forgiveness. I'm really beginning to get hooked on these books about MMA fighters. Recommend this book to read and I have found another author that is new for me.
