18076876

Synopsis

WELCOME TO THE CLUB

Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart—and her virginity—to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.

She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious—her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands—with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club—to give them a better life.

Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way…

Review

Reaper’s Legacy is a great addition to the Reapers MC series. There is nothing like being sucked into a biker book….. The grittiness, the action, simply how raw they are. Joanna manages to include all these characteristics, yet still make the series seem realistic without all the over the top drama and violence seen in so many biker series today. The characters are unique and the steam factor is smoking! 4 stars!

What I loved.....

The characters! Both characters were such headstrong and independent characters and when they conflicted? It made for great moments of conflict with tons of angst, sexual tension, and passion! See the quotes below:

I’m not a knight in shining fucking armor, Sophie. What part of this don’t you get?
-
“I think you’re a raging asshole.”
Ruger laughed. “Yeah, well I think you’re a bitch, but my cock likes you, so we’ll figure something out.”

For one, I felt that long-term relationships should be monogamous. he felt they should be monogamous for me and open for him.

“You’re a very frustrating person, Ruger,” I said, torn between bitching at him for being such a giant whore or jumping over the counter, ripping off his pants, and riding his cock.

The man was like heroin – seductive, addictive, and a damned good way to wake up dead.’ - Sophie

The Story…..

Sophie meets Ruger on the night she lost her virginity to his step brother, Zach. Let’s just say that this is a night that neither one of them ever forgets. Coincidentally, that night she also gets pregnant. Eight months later, Ruger is the one who is there for her to deliver her little boy, Noah. It seems that really Ruger is the one who is always there when Sophie needs someone, and not Zach.

Several years later, after Sophie has moved away and is struggling to make ends meet because Zach is a dead-beat father, Ruger comes in and saves the day again. This time Ruger doesn’t give Sophie a choice, they are moving in with him regardless of what she thinks, because he will not risk Noah’s safety again. Sophie doesn’t know whether to smack Ruger or jump his bones, no man infuriates her like he does. The more time she spends in his home, the more the sexual tension between the two sizzles. Sophie knows better than to get involved with Ruger, after all, he is nothing but a man-whore and he admittedly will not be monogamous. What happens when they can no longer deny the attraction and chemistry between the two of them? What happens when a blast from the past comes in and threatens Sophie’s safety, will Ruger be there when she really needs him?

What I struggled with......

The first part of the book started so strong, it was without a doubt 5 stars. Then around the middle or so it started to drag, and it dragged for a little while. What I was reading was not necessarily boring, just not necessarily exciting either. It did pick up at the end, but this caused me to knock a star off of my rating.

Final Thoughts......

Overall, this is a great series.....raw, emotional, and addictive. I loved this one just as much as the first one. I can’t wait for book 3, which will be Em’s and Hunter's story! It looks like it is going to be the best yet!
