Very Bad Things by Ilsa Madden-Mills ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

 Synopsis:

Born into a life of privilege and secrets, Nora Blakely has everything any nineteen-year-old girl could desire. She's an accomplished pianist, a Texas beauty queen, and on her way to Princeton after high school. She's perfect.

Leaving behind her million-dollar mansion and Jimmy Choos, she becomes a girl hell-bent on pushing the limits with alcohol, drugs, and meaningless sex.

Then she meets her soulmate. But he doesn't want her.

When it comes to girls, twenty-five-year-old Leo Tate has one rule: never fall in love. His gym and his brother are all he cares about...until he meets Nora. He resists the pull of their attraction, hung up on their six year age difference.

As they struggle to stay away from each other, secrets will be revealed, tempers will flare, and hearts will be broken.

Welcome to Briarcrest Academy...where sometimes, the best things in life are Very Bad Things.

*Recommended for mature audiences 18+ due to strong language and sexual content.*

Excerpt

As if he’d made a decision, he pulled me out into the quiet hallway. Once we were alone, he said, “Now, about last night—” he stopped, appearing stuck on what to say.

“Yeah?”

He took two steps away from me, like he needed some space between us, like what he was going to say was difficult. He ran his hand through his hair furiously, pulling on the ends a little. “Nora, look, I think you’re a pretty girl, but there won’t be anything between us.”

My face flushed because I had acted inappropriately last night. Like a slut, really. Yet I didn’t regret it. And then there was my bad list. I wanted him for my meaningless sex. Still.

“Because you think I’m too young.”

“Yes.” He blew out a breath. “I’m sorry if I come across as a prick here, but I don’t want you to get the wrong idea about me. I don’t do serious relationships ever, and you deserve something good, not just a quick fuck.”

I stared at his full lips, not holding back. “I like it when you say ‘fuck.’”

Review

Bad Girls Rule! Favorite thing about this book = Nora!! I have a huge girl crush on Nora! Kick ass chick with an I don't give an f' attitude....Nora said all the things I want to say in real life! I had an itsy bitsy tiny issue with the book that I need to get off my chest and it caused me to knock my rating back a tad.....the Epilogue...it just didn't do it for me. If your going to include an Epilogue, I need it to be epic, like the story was....at least give us a little glimpse into the characters future (maybe this will come in the other books?) I just felt like the story was incomplete BUT other than that this book was fan-freaking-tastic and I would definitely recommend it. 4.5 I wanna be bad stars!!!

“Behind every beautiful thing is a world of pain.”

Nora is the perfect girl. Perfect face, perfect clothes, perfect shoes, perfect life, a family that comes from wealth and seems so put together....but this is all on the outside, a front. Nora feels the pressure from her controlling mother to excel at everything. It all becomes too much, something terrible has happened to Nora in her past and it finally comes to a head and Nora explodes becoming the bad girl of Briarcrest Academy, the rebel.

“He was my Prince Charming, but I wasn't his Cinderella.”

Enter Leo....Leo is 25 years old and left to be the guardian of his brother Sebastian after his parents die in an accident.  Leo enrolls Sebastian in Briarcrest Academy with the hopes of Sebastian getting a better education.  He meets Nora at Briarcrest orientation and instantly feels a connection to the girl that seems lost and alone...Leo can tell she is hiding things.  Nora wants Leo, but Leo doesn't do commitment and he feels that Nora is just too young and he will end up hurting her in the end. Time and time again Nora and Leo run into each other, the chemistry and attraction is undeniable, and Leo is finding it harder and harder to resist Nora. Will Leo give in to Nora? And what happens when the truth about the past comes out will Nora and Leo find their HEA?

“Is it true that soulmates always end up together? I didn't think so, but I hoped that if there was such a thing as reincarnation, we would meet again in a another life and try again. If it was possible, I'd find him, for another chance at love.”

Amazing debut novel for Ilsa. Very Bad Things was completely captivating, angsty to the max, intensely sinful, heart-wrenching, and very steamy.....a must read!
