Synopsis
Thalia is twenty-one and has just finished her sophomore year of college. After a few dates at college, Thalia agrees to go home for the summer with Liam. While she likes him, she thinks of him more as a friend then boyfriend at the moment but agrees to see "where things go". What she didn't expect was to go home and meet Jack, his brother.
Jack has been forced into a life he doesn't want. Becoming a family court lawyer for his father's law firm, marrying Mia-who he doesn't love, and giving up on his own personal interests like music. When his brother comes home for school from the summer all of a sudden he's finding it harder to keep his wants and needs hidden to please others.
There is definitely an instant attraction between Jack and Thalia. You can feel their chemistry but they both know they need to stay away from each other. With weeks to go until Jack and Mia's wedding Mia, Liam, Jack, and Mia are forced to make a decision to stand up for themselves or live unhappily in lives forced upon them.
I REALLLLLLY wanted to love this story the way I loved Lexi Buchanan's first book, but while I did enjoy it, it just fell a little short for me. I enjoyed the characters, each had their own distinct personalities that made you love them, but the story itself just felt extremely dragged out. Too much "I love you but I can't be with you" and a lot of unnecessary drama that seemed thrown in there just to lengthen the book.
I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series because I really enjoyed the characters, I just hope some of the "extra" stuff is reduced.
