Cillian O’Braidagh is the sexy, front man to the Irish rock band, Over The Edge. His rising fame and sultry voice make him every woman’s fantasy come true. Not to mention his single-minded determination. To put it simply: what Cillian wants, Cillian always gets. And he wants Renner, because there’s just something about the flame-haired beauty he has to possess.
If their relationship was just about sex and rock n’ roll, it would be easy for them to get lost in their desires. Only their relationship is anything but a hook-up. Will lies, deceit and hidden tragedy get in the way, making the path to true love uncertain? Or will the girl whose been knocked Off Course, find her footing with the man who is teaching her it’s okay to lose control?

4.5 Stars……
“I’m not sure what this obsession is with Renner. Sure…she’s beautiful with her red hair and pale skin…like fire and cream. But that’s not it because let’s face it…there’s plenty of red-haired beauties in Ireland. Maybe it’s the challenge she presents, particularly because she’s trying her damnedest to show she’s not interested. Or maybe it’s simple unfinished business I feel I have with her. Even after 5 years, I remember how soft her lips were against mine. I remember how she was too shy to touch me, so she just grabbed ahold of my t-shirt and hung on. And I certainly remember how hard that kiss made me.” ~ Cillian
“Every time he speaks to me, every sentiment that comes from his heart…it’s like I find myself submersing into the warm depths of his soul. He is so different then what I had actually expected he’d be, and it seems I’m constantly marveling over the connection that is growing.” ~ Renner
Wow…..what an amazing, heart-squeezing, love story to read. This is the fourth book I the “Off” series by Sawyer Bennett. It can be read as a stand alone. And if this is the first one you read in this series, I’m sure you’ll want to grab Off Sides (#1), Off Limits (#2) & Off the Record (#3). But read #1 then 2 because it’s a continuation of that couple.
I love the characters this author gives me to read about. This one is about Renner Caldwell. She’s back in Ireland after being away for five years. And when she was there when she was 18, she met Cillian O’Bradaigh. He’s the lead guitarist and singer of the band Over the Edge. There was immediate attraction that never went too far. Now, Renner is back, trying to get her life back on track after experiencing heartache and humiliation with Cormac, a Delta pilot, coward and real jerk. She didn’t expect to run into Cillian again, but we all know how sometimes fate just has a way of getting shoved in your face when you least expect it.
Ms. Bennett created a story for me that I didn’t want to put down. Renner and Cillian’s relationship gets off to a shaky start. Renner already has him pegged as a hot rock star, arrogant and a cocky ass and wants nothing to do with him. Only the way she feels and the way she reacts to him most definitely tell Cillian something different. And he’s up to the challenge.
Now….this isn’t all sunshine, roses and hot, steamy sex. Nope….you’ve got to throw a wrench in this wheel. And that is Maeve, the bass guitarist in OTE. Cillian had a relationship with her in the past and ended it a while ago. She’s the black cloud hanging over Renner and Cillian and she thinks she’s smart with the web that she’s weaving. While I did enjoy the conflict with Maeve, after a while she just became a huge PITA to me. Are the feelings that Renner and Cillian starting to have for each other strong enough to overcome Maeve’s interference???
What did I love about this book?
* Renner finally deciding to take that step out of her box and live a little
* Cillian’s determination to be with Renner and not giving up
* The other characters in this book…Cady (Renner’s Irish cousin), Renner’s mom, her uncle, and Sean and Daniel, who are the other members of OTE
I also liked how Flynn, Renner’s brother is brought in and the scenes played out at the end of this story. I look forward to the next story from this author. I already have a feeling I’m going to love it as much as I have this one and the others. I also don’t know if this series should be called the Off series…..I think they are right On! I recommend reading this series and hope that you get as much reading enjoyment out of it that I did.
