Connected by Kim Karr ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Blurb
What if a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ could happen twice?

Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But, when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable.
When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia’s life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soul mate.
Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift -- but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her.

But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

Review

WOW! This is one of those books I normally would have to get my head together before writing the review but since I don't have time for that I am just going to dive right in.  I read this book in one day.  It consumed my thoughts and the whole time I was at work all I could think about was getting back to this book. I had a gnawing ache in my stomach, I felt every word, I knew that something big was coming and I feel like I just got hit by a freight train! The secret that I think I know has not been revealed yet, and the one that was revealed was just OMG the ultimate twist!!!!! I'm still reeling from the Epilogue! 4 stars

The book starts of with us meeting Dahlia. She is in college, and she has been with her boyfriend Ben since they were kids. She doesn't even remember when they fell in love, she just knows that she is and it just happened through their friendship. Her best-friend Aerie takes her to a local bar to see a band - The Wilde ones. This is where she meets River and feels an intense connection so strong that she knows if she doesn't leave the bar immediately she is done for. Rather than risk her and Ben's relationship being over, she walks out of the bar and away from River for good. Five years later fate intervenes and Dahlia and River are given the opportunity to reconnect and that same undeniable magnetic pull is there.  River is amazing.....he's sweet, freaking sexy, and a rock star. The chemistry between him and Dahlia is smoldering! So much has happened since there initial meeting.......so much sorrow, grief, and tragedy.  Can Dahlia and River find true happiness together or will forces beyond their control step in their way?

“When our eyes connected it felt like minutes, in reality it was mere seconds. At that moment, something happened inside of me. The connection was like nothing I’d ever felt before. It was an electric pull that willed me in and forced me to keep looking at him….could love at first sight even exist when you were already in love with someone else?”

Connected is a great debut novel for Kim.....a story about living life after loss, taking second chances, surviving, loving, connecting.  The ending was absolutely, positively amazing! I did not see it coming, and I was guessing all the way to the end! I have a feeling there are still so many secrets that weren't revealed to us in Connected and I'm sure there are many more secrets we will find out in Torn.....really looking forward to reading more by Kim Karr!

About the Author:

Kim Karr lives in Florida with her husband and four kids. She’s always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, she wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. She went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise her family. Kim currently works part-time with her husband and recently decided to embrace one of her biggest passions—writing.

Kim wears a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of her family. However, she always finds time to read. One of her favorite family outings was taking her kids when they were little to the bookstore or the library. Today, Kim’s oldest child is seventeen and no longer goes with her on these, now rare and infrequent, outings. She finds that she doesn’t need to go on them anymore because she has the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle.
Kim likes to believe in soul mates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-After's. She loves to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.

  6. I want to believe in a soulmate! I believe my husband and I were destined to be together - so many signs over the past 26 years tell me so, but the relationship takes constant work by both parties, and sometimes one or the other gets lazy.
