A Companion Novel to The Proposition and The Proposal
After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.
For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sight…at first. But the more he gets to know her, there's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.
What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.

I loved this story, I loved seeing relationships develop and getting a glimpse of Emma and Aiden in this book for me…..that sweetened the deal! My only little issue was Pesh’s dialogue was kinda awkward at times, but other than that I really enjoyed this book.

“Oh, I don’t know if I should be gone that long. I don’t
want to take advantage of Ankle’s kindness for watching Mason.”
Emma shook her head. “He won’t mind. He’s happy to do it.”
As Megan raised her brows skeptically, Casey snorted. “Lemme
guess, you bribed him sexually to get him to give up a perfectly good Saturday
watching two kids who are under two.”
A red flush entered Emma’s cheeks. “I don’t know what you’re
talking about.”
Casey laughed. “Oh Em, you are so busted!” Leaning forward,
she put her elbows on the table and stared straight at Emma. “So what was it?
Green lingerie? A blow job? Maybe a blow job while wearing green lingerie?”
Refusing to meet Casey’s inquisitive gaze, Emma finally
murmured, “It was a blow job in the shower this morning, okay?”
Casey snickered. “I knew you had done something. Hmm, that
was fun. It was like solving a sexual game of Clue—it was Emma in the shower
with a blow job.”
Megan brought her hands up to cover her eyes. “Umm, hello?
That’s my uncle you’re talking about.”
Review
After reading and adoring The
Proposition and The Proposal last year, I was really looking forward to Pesh’s
story. I enjoyed Pesh and Megan’s story,
hardly any drama…just super cute and swoony! 4 stars.
So remember Pesh? He is the handsome, dreamy, widowed doctor who was hoping to win Emma’s heart after she split up from Aiden following his little "mistake". Well, if you read The Proposition and The Proposal we all know how that ends. So Emma and Pesh remain friends and Emma is on a mission to help Pesh find the right woman. When Pesh is asked to be the Godfather of Noah, he is introduced to the Godmother, Megan. Megan is Aiden's niece, also is also single. Megan was left by her ex when she discovered she was pregnant with her young son Mason. Mason’s dad is an NFL star who is not involved in his life at all, he just sends monthly child support payments.
Even though Megan is attracted to Pesh, she isn’t looking for a relationship and Pesh isn’t the type to do casual. Pretty soon, after circumstances beyond their control, Megan finds herself working alongside Pesh. It’s not long before they give into the chemistry between the two of them. Can Megan let Pesh in and finally get her chance at true happiness? Or has Megan closed her heart to love for good?

“If I take you, I’ll be making love to
you. I’ll have you begging and pleading, but you’ll be coming so many times
you’ll lose count. You’ll understand the difference between a quick tumble and
the all-consuming power of a physical connection fueled by an emotional one.”
