RW Blurb
Ever wonder how often Brad Pitt’s high school girlfriend must ponder jumping off a bridge? Ever think about the girl that had her hooks in George Clooney before he took off for TV stardom? How about Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex, or Johnny Depp’s first groupie, or any number of young women who got left behind when their boyfriends set off for greener pastures and eventually achieved unfathomable Hollywood fame?
My name is Layla Warren and I don’t need to wonder about any of those things. I already know. Because years before Trip Wiley could be seen on movie screens all over the world, he could be seen sitting in the desk behind me in my high school English class.
This was back in 1990, and I cite the year only to avoid dumbfounding you when references to big hair or stretch pants are mentioned. Although, come to think of it, I am from New Jersey, which may serve as explanation enough. We were teenagers then, way back in a time before anyone could even dream he’d turn into the Hollywood commodity that he is today.
In case you live under a rock and don't know who Trip Wiley is, just know that these days, he’s the actor found at the top of every casting director’s wish list. He’s incredibly talented and insanely gorgeous, the combination of which has made him very rich, very famous and very desirable.
And not just to casting directors, either.
I can’t confirm any of the gossip from his early years out in Tinseltown, but based on what I knew of his life before he was famous, I can tell you that the idea of Girls-Throwing-Themselves-At-Trip is not a new concept.
I should know. I was one of them.
And my life hasn’t been the same since.
Review
This is a sweet, fun, sassy, enjoyable read and honestly this book is NOT getting the recognition it deserves. I think with a re-vamping of the cover and blurb the author could really catch more attention with the book because if you haven't read it you are missing out on a great book! I caught myself laughing out loud several times to references from the 80's and 90's from the banana clips, spandex, aqua net, and New Kids on the Block and then there was the heroines feisty comeback remarks that had me chuckling out loud! I read this book straight through and did not want to put it down. I need book #2 in my hands like yesterday! 4.5 stars
The blurb to me was kind of confusing, you know that Trip is a big Hollywood star but book 1 is really not touching on that. From what I am gathering from the author there will be three books in this series that will revolve around Trip and Layla's on again off again relationship over many years. This first book is the telling of how they first meet, it's their high senior year......the telling of the friendship that develops that leads to a relationship between Trip and Layla leading up until Layla heads off to College. I don't want to give too much of the story away but Trip is gonna be another book boyfriend that steals our hearts, seriously I cried at the end when Layla read the letter Trip wrote her when he first meet her in class. *Swoon* Then the ending....Gah that ending...not a cliffhanger per say but made you want book 2 in your hands immediately.
“Be happy. And know that I’ll be thinking of you.” At that he bent his face to mine and I let him kiss me.
I adored Remember When......it made me feel nostalgic...like I was taking my own trip down memory lane with Layla and Trip and re-living my high school days. This book is a MUST read for all you lovers of chick-lit

Synopsis:
You know how sometimes, your high school crush grows up to be an insanely famous movie star? Okay, probably not. But I do. ~Layla Warren
Back in high school, Trip Wiley’s fanbase only encompassed the denizens of the nothing little suburb of Norman, New Jersey.
Ten years later, all that is about to change.
In the summer of 2000, Layla Warren is enjoying her career as a journalist in New York City (well, sort of), while Trip spends most of his time grabbing Hollywood by the balls. In the days before what will turn out to be his skyrocketing fame, they’ll find themselves confronted with some life-altering choices.
Remember When 2 is the second story in an NA romance trilogy. It will bring you back to that exuberant and riotous time of life in your twenties when you struggled to figure out your place in the world and the person you were meant to be…
…and the person you were meant to be with.
**Intended for ages 18+ due to some questionable language and sex.**

Review
I fell in love with Trip and Layla in Remember When and I fell even more in love with them in Remember When 2: The Sequel! I know I sound like a broken record but T. Torrest is NOT getting the recognition she deserves for this series....seriously where is the publishing deal? This is one of my favorite series ever, it completely knocked me off my feet and took me by surprise! 5 stars!!!
So, after reading Remember When and chatting with T. and getting a chance to be on the ARC list for RW2 I was like OH HELL YEAH!!!! I will read everything T. writes and I mean absolutely everything!
RW2 starts off 9 years later with a grown up Trip and Layla who have gone their separate ways, although Layla still frequently thought about Trip and followed his career online. We learn that over the years Trip and Layla stayed in touch through letters but eventually they lost touch but neither one really knows why. Anyhoo, Layla is working for a small magazine and Trip is an actor, having starred in some small roles but he is about to hit the big time having landed a starring role in big movie! Layla gets the chance to reconnect with Trip who is in NY filming his movie (he resides in LA) when she gets the opportunity to interview him for the magazine she works for. During the interview it's obvious the two still have that connection....that chemistry and unresolved feelings (and sweet baby, Trip is hotter than ever) but unfortunately alot has changed in their lives since they have been separated.
So the more time Trip and Layla spend together the more they fight their feelings but it's heard to deny the connection they have. Trip is determined to make Layla see that they should be together but Layla denies her feelings and is afraid that Trip just wants one more night with her but she is soooo wrong. I felt for Trip at the end of this book and then I felt for Layla.....how could they!!!!! Then when I learned the reason they lost touch......I was screaming unfreaking-believable....NOOOOOOOOO!
RW2 was definitely more angsty then RW and although I didn't have quite as many laugh out loud moments, the humor was still there and I have Lisa (Layla's best friend) to thank for that. The characters are living the adult life and Layla is not herself and not happy....her life is missing something and she has to figure out for herself what that is to make herself happy.
“I’m sorry about…ever letting you go. I’m sorry for all the time we wasted. I’m sorry for being here with you right now when we can’t do a damned thing about it.”
Congrats T on your release (even though you left me hanging girlfriend :).....I know I already told you but RW2 was perfect! This series is the perfect combo of angst, passion, laugh-out loud humor, hope, faith, and love. I laughed, I cried....tears, actual streaming tears, and I screamed at my kindle....can't wait until RW3, the wait will be excruciating but I hope once again I am on the early reading list <3
