Arranged by Sara Wolfe ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Blurb (from Goodreads):

When Rose Jensen’s grandfather dies, he leaves her enough money to save her parents’ failing business and get her through UCLA. The only catch – she has to marry Lee Montenegro, the infuriating half-Spanish, all-playboy transfer. Rose and Lee’s grandfathers were fast friends, and betrothed their grandchildren to each other.

Lee wants the money to run from his suffocating family, and turns his full burning charisma on Rose, but she won’t give in. She’ll never marry someone she doesn't love, and who doesn't love her. But memories of a mysterious boy in her childhood haunt her, and Lee insists they know each other. With her parent’s pressures mounting, her scholarship slipping, and Lee’s advances heating up with more than just money-lust, Rose is torn between doing the right thing for her family, and doing the right thing for her heart.

**This story contains language and sexual scenes, some of which may be unsuitable for younger readers.

**This is the first book in the ARRANGED series.

Review

An arranged marriage?? In this day and age? Does this still happen? After reading the synopsis, I thought I have to read this. And this is another new author for me.
I will tell you this, 5% into the book, I was laughing out loud with the incident Rose has in her dorm. I thought, wow, this author knows how to write & she pulled me into this book even more. 4 Stars

Rose Jensen is attending UCLA. She is young, studies hard and determined to succeed in life. She doesn’t follow the “norm” for most college students. She rarely goes out to party and when she does, it’s usually to just bring her roommate, Selena home. One thing she doesn’t want is to be a financial burden for her parents, so Rose needs to maintain good grades to keep the scholarships she has been awarded. She finds out while attending her grandfather’s funeral, that her parents artisan soap company is having financial difficulties and she’s struggling with how or what she could do to help. While at her grandfather’s viewing, a strange man in a suit approaches her, gives her his card and says that he needs to speak with her regarding her grandfather’s will. She goes and is surprised to see who is also sitting in on this meeting. It seems grandpa left her money. Money he earned in a wise investment he made with a fellow soldier years ago about the time she was born. When her grandfather and his friend were serving their country, they made a bet to merge their families together. Since Rose’s mom was already dating her dad at that time, they decided they’d have to have their future grandchildren get together.

This is where Lee Montenegro comes in. He’s transferred from Spain to UCLA to attend school & is on the swim team. He’s also well known with the girls. Rose doesn’t really see him around campus all that much. She also doesn’t have much memory of him visiting her grandfather’s farm during the summers when they were growing up. Well, he’s the grandson of her grandfather’s friend.
Rose is faced with a lot of tough decisions to make for someone so young. What’s a girl to do in this situation? Lee & Rose don’t even know each other that well. The author’s words made me feel the things that both of these characters were feeling at the time. I loved there interactions, the words that were said, Rose’s insecurities, etc.

Do Rose & Lee maybe have something here??? Let me tell you, just when I think I know what’s going to happen or how things will play out, I get flipped upside down like a friggin’ pancake. Yup, I’m a little ticked, but in a good way. Sometimes, I caught myself saying, “I can’t believe this author is doing this to me?” Just when you think things may work, in struts Kiera, an ex of Lee’s and she is not a nice person. There’s heartache, distrust, some deception and lies thrown in here. Does Rose realize her mistake? Can she make it right? Does Lee share how his true feelings? OMG, there better be a continuation to this story. It ends with a cliffhanger, darn it! I have a lot of unanswered questions in my head. But I would give this author a big hug, as well as a possible smack because she left me wanting more. I NEED more to this story. I will be stalking her web page, to see what the future holds. I highly recommend this book. It’s a very good, heartfelt read.

Bio:

Sara Wolf is a romance author who, in-between wrangling a husband and a parakeet, inhales a lot of chai tea and gardens (badly!!). She's a huge fan of Vampire Diaries, angsty love, and all kinds of chocolate. She works as a internet marketer in the day, but she'd much rather be writing tortured heroes at night.
