My last couple of reads have been emotional, heavy reads so this novella was refreshing and light, just what I needed. Nothing too heavy, short, quick, sexy, hot, and fun! 3.75 stars

For as long as I can remember, I've had a good book in my hands. In primary school I loved Roald Dahl. In high school my English teacher introduced me to Charles Dickens, Stephen King, Jane Austin, Emily Bronte, and Shakespeare. It was then that I discovered my love for romance and I've wanted to pen my own imaginary heroes and heroines for others to enjoy ever since. Only in the last few years was I lucky enough to meet some fabulous and encouraging people to help me gain the skills to make that dream possible.
I live in sunny Scotland in a small town near the Ochils and work nine to five in a solicitors office. In my free time, you'll find me on Facebook, stalking *cough* following friends on Twitter, and may even catch me shoe shopping.

Review
The Edge of Darkness is an amazing book! Love is blind, when you love someone you don't see the flaws in them, you love them for the person that they are, and that is just what happens between Ryland and Araya in the Edge of Darkness. 4 Beautiful, heart-wrenching stars!

After a tragic accident took her mother away and left her scarred, Araya went to go live with her cold and calculating aunt and drunken uncle who didn't want her and felt burden by her. They refused to help her adjust to living as a blind girl, they made her feel helpless and not beautiful. On one of her rare occasions out of the house, Araya by chance meets Ryland Dare at the park. He asks her out but Araya leaves him hanging. What she thinks is a one time meeting turns into more when all of a sudden her aunt shows an interest and takes her to a tutor. This tutor just happens to be Ryland's sister, Cara or Careless as they call her. The more time Araya and Ryland spend together they find themselves falling in love. Ryland is the typical playboy with the world at his hands, he's set to take over his family business and his father will stop at nothing to make sure that happens, especially making sure he stays away from the blind girl he deems not good enough and a burden for his son. 4 Stars!Oh how I love anything Jessica Sorensen. Breaking Nova was another heart wrenching story that tore at my heart.
Nova has lost two of the most important people in her life, and witnessed both. After losing them, she loses herself and has no idea how to get past it. She doesn't let anyone in until she meets Quinton. At first she thinks she's drawn to him because of how much he reminds her of her deceased boyfriend. But as she gets to know him more, she realizes there's much more to him and she can't stay away.
Quinton is wallowing in self pity. When he lost the love of his life in a car wreck, that he was the driver, he vows to live his life loyal to her-never letting anyone else in. When he meets Nova he finds commonality in her sadness. He wants to see her laugh, smile, and take away her pain.
Breaking Nova was another heart breaker. Both Nova and Quinton have ignored their emotions for so long they've gone numb. Neither of them are sure how to get past their guilt or emotions regarding those that they've lost. Wondering if they could have saved them, blaming themselves for their pain.
"People say time heals all wounds, and maybe they're right. But what if the wounds don't heal correctly, like when cuts leave behind nasty scars, or when broken bones mend together, but aren't as smooth anymore? Does it mean they're really healed? Or is it that the body did what it could to fix what broke...But what exactly is broke...with me..with him...I'm not sure, but it feels like I need to find out...somehow...about him...about myself...but how the fuck do I find out about him when the only person that truly knew what was real is...gone?"
I loved the emotions that both Quinton and Nova felt throughout this. They made me want to hug them because they're just so fragile and sad, but at the same time I wanted to strangle them and yell 'GET IT TOGETHER!".
Of course this book had another cliff hanger and I am anxious to get Nova #2 already! If you've loved Jessica Sorensen's other books you won't regret reading this one either. It's not your typical happy love story but there is more than enough depth and emotion to it!! Love love love!

WOWSY!!! WOW! WOW! This book was absolutely AMAZINGLY Perfect!!!! This has to be one of the best books this year! Every. Single. Part. of this book was so freaking unbelievable. Is it possible to feel each and every emotion possible? HELL YES! That is what this book has done to me....One minute I am laughing, irritated, happy in love, quivering from all the hot sex and then just straight up loving every bit of each emotion. Yes, I was totally captivated, entertained and completely fell in love. Whitney G. just blew me out of the water. The author spent so much time creating and building this AMAZING Story. And the story is so much better since it is told in both Claire and Jonathan's POV. But not only told in each others POV, the author also introduces us to Claire and Jonathans' life prior to the beginning of their love story. We get to understand their stories and how they have become the people they are now.
Claire Gracen's life was picture perfect - married to her high school sweetheart, has twin daughters and has a marketing career on the brink of being legendary. That is until she finds out that her husband and BFF have been having an affair for over a year and to top it off....the BFF is pregnant with his baby. ASSHOLE!!!! What does any scorned middle aged woman do when this happens?.........Leave.......Claire was so broken, distraught and depressed and decides she needed a complete change. New life in a new city, new friends, new job....So she moves close to her mom in San Francisco and begins to rebuild a simple life with her daughters. The book begins 4 years after she divorces the scumbag cheater. She has settled into her comfortable lonely life with her new crazy funny friends and a job she hates.....and she is about to turn 40 seems to make her even more depressed......

Her best friend drags her to a Middle Age New Years Eve Mingle Party.....How fun does that sound? Well, Claire hated the idea but went along for her friends sake......This is where YOUNG SEXY ALPHA MALE Jonathan spots her while he is at the same hotel attending a meeting. Claire is unaware that Jonathan has noticed her and while he tries to approach several times he is pulled away for business reasons. Then SEXY Jonathan runs into her in the store days later........When helping Claire pick up her mess she has made in the grocery store, he tries to make small conversation and ask her out. She totally is caught off guard because one he is so much younger than her and two it just can't be real. Why would a young sexy man want to go out with her? Jonathan gives her his card and asked to her to call if she is ever interested. Of course days later, Claire still has not called and still contemplating if she should. This was an intense sexy love story of two people trying to figure out how to not fall in love....but completely FAIL at it.....So many funny moments, tender moments, torturing moments and LOTS OF SEXY moments.

I laugh, and it echoes through the car. Addy shifts in her car seat, but stays asleep.
Chris bends, disappearing from sight for a second, then straightens and raises a Coke can to his lips as he wipes his sweaty chest with a white paint rag. A tool belt hugs his hips.
I feel hot all of a sudden and crack my window. My forehead’s slick, and I wipe it with the bottom of his t-shirt. I don’t want to leave, but the longer I stay, the higher my chances of being caught spying on him.
Review
This is just one of those stories were you feel and hope for the characters, it's YA so it's not all sexed up. A beautiful story of one sisters hope of making a better life for her baby sister and acting on those impulses, yet going about it the wrong way, but in all the chaos finding something beautiful in her journey....love. 4 stars!

A beautiful, heartfelt, emotional story, that I loved. I haven't felt this way about a book in along time, it's just one of those stories I will never forget. My only complaint is the open ending, the story is not finished...I need more! After I finished, I searched the internet and looks like we will at least be getting a novella to follow up this book. I can't wait to see what is next for Faith, Chris, and Addy.
