I liked this story, it was a little predictable, no major plot twists, but you know what? That’s okay, because I liked the characters and the story was steamy as heck! I loved the good guy/bad girl theme and I devoured the book in one sitting. Overall, a 4 star read for me.
Nate and Jessie are friends, strictly friends. Jessie has always been Nate’s “safe girl”, the girl he can talk to, have fun with and not have to worry about having sex with, besides they are complete opposites. Nate uses sex as a release, and never sleeps with the same girl twice. His family life looks perfect on the outside, but it is less than perfect. There is a history of abuse, and Nate is haunted by it, that’s why he uses sex as a means to cope. When Nate’s fantasies in the bedroom lead him to a darker side of himself it scares him…makes him think he is becoming to much like his father, a man he despises.
Jessie has never seen Nate as more than the wealthy “safe” playboy that he is….in other words she has friend-zoned him. One encounter with Nate in a restroom changes her view of him and soon sparks are flying all over the place. Jessie soon discovers that Nate has his sweet side, but also a darker sexual side that the tattooed Jessie can’t get enough of. The more time these two spend together the hotter they burn….will Nate be able to let go and forget his past to be with Jessie? Or will his past continually pull him under and make him run?

This was my first Christina Lee book and I will definitely
read more by her. Promise Me This had
just the right amount of sweet and steam!
