I enjoyed this one....but I must admit it took me a little while to get into the story, but once it grabbed me, I was instantly sucked into Betting on Grace. The one sure thing about Nicole's books is she always manages to bring the hotness...and she did not disappoint at all...these sexy cowboys and cowgirl were smoldering hot together. 4 stars.

Boots Optional and Betting On Grace told the story of Gracie, Grant, and Lane as they struggle to navigate a relationship and deal with the fear of being judged for their choices to love each other, and also deal with obstacles that threaten their relationship before it even really begins. Will these three realize what they have and fight for it before it's too late?

Fans of Nicole will love this one...if your looking for a couple of sexy cowboys to rock your world, and quite possibly some of the hottest menage scenes I've ever read...you're going to love this one!

Max

“How are you holding up? Did it go okay with Nate last night?”

She stiffens at his name. “He asked me to move to LA.”

Of course he did. “And what did you say?”

She blinks at me. “I’m not leaving New Hope. This is my home.”

“He wanted more than for you to move to LA.” I take a step closer. I need to touch her. I wonder if she knows she’s pulling away from me, if she can feel it like I can. It’s as if we’re connected by a thousand little threads like those in a woven rug and they’ve been breaking one at a time since the moment Nate came back into town. With every breath, I feel another thread snap. “He wanted you.”

She shrugs. “I’m already taken.”

I draw in a deep breath. She lifts her hand to my face and skims her fingers along my jaw.

I groan softly and slide my hand into her hair as I lower my mouth to hers. She’s soft and sweet, and I need more of her.

Taking a fistful of her skirt, I yank her dress up around her waist and find the cotton of her panties. She gasps, and I rub her through the fabric as her fingers curl into my back. My lips find her neck and the skin in the sensitive juncture of neck and shoulder.

“Max,” she says. But it’s not the normal breathy, needy whispering of my name. The word is a warning. A yield sign. “Max.”

My hand stills and I pull back to look into her eyes. I’m blindsided by the apology I see there. “Let’s move in together.”

“What?” She blinks at me. If she’s thinking I have the world’s worst timing with important proposals, she’s not wrong.

“We could rent out our apartments and use the money to rent a little place together. Someplace without those stairs that scare the living shit out of me every time I think of you climbing them. Someplace we can make our own.” I take her hand and squeeze. “You didn’t want to move in together last spring because you knew your mom would flip if you lived with a guy before marriage, but we’re not trying to maintain appearances anymore, are we?” She looks at the floor, and I tilt her chin back up so her eyes meet mine. “I could give two shits about appearances. I want to wake up with you in my arms, Hanna. I want to know I’m going to be right there when you need me, every time you need me. You and Claire are all that matter in my world. I want everything that matters to be what I come home to every night.”</ div>

“I’m sorry.” She steps back. “I just can’t. I’m too confused right now.”

My lungs burn as I fill them—it hurts to breathe in a world where Hanna isn’t mine.

“I know it’s not fair. And I want a future with you, but...”

“But you can’t stop thinking about him.”

“I can’t move in with you right now,” she says softly. “That wouldn’t be fair to either of us. It’s not that simple.”

“You keep saying that.”

I swallow back the rest of what I want to say right along with my anger, frustration, and the betrayal I’ve never allowed myself to feel. While I was waiting for her to take my ring, she was with another man, and I was never allowed to be angry because that man died and she needed to grieve.

I drag a hand through my hair and look at the ceiling. “Was it that simple when you made love to him?”

“Can we not do this?”

Torment is etched across her face, and I can’t stand to know I’m the one who put it there. I pull her against my chest.

“I won’t rush you, but remember something for me,” I whisper into her hair. “You put on my ring.”

Once a college English professor, I now write full time. I live in rural Indiana, where, when I’m not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids–a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl. Not surprisingly, reading and writing remain my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children. Review

Well, I was really surprised by this book! This is my first book by Clarissa and it definitely won't be my last. This is without a doubt one of my top ten favorite dark reads...very close to a 5 star read. I knocked a few points back because I didn't care for the time/date stamps at the beginning of the chapters, they got very confusing to me and I really disliked the open ending. Other than that, this was a great read 4.5 stars

I'm not going to summarize the story like I usually do on my reviews, you need to go into this book blind. Just know there is history between X and our heroine, and plenty of plot twists I didn't see coming!

Lovers of dark reads will love this one. Mr. X was raw, mind-bending, and gritty.....top ten dark read favorite. I'll just choose my own HEA for this twisted couple.

Review

This is my first read by M.S. Parker, as I have not read the Club Prive series.  This was definitely a steamy page-turner and it without a doubt left me anxious for more.  This is good and bad….I definitely felt like I was left hanging and didn't have a chance to fully connect to the characters yet, but that is to be expected in a 3 volume series. 3.5 stars.

DeVon is used to getting anything he wants, and he is not shy about getting it or asking for it…women easily give it to him and know not to expect a relationship in return.  He is never with a woman longer than 2 – 3 weeks.  When he meets Krissy, whom he wants to hire as a lawyer for his talent agency, they experience a love/hate relationship and can’t stop thinking about each other. 

Volume 1 is the introduction of the characters…the build up of the want and chemistry between them.  It also leaves you wanting so much more of the sexy DeVon Ricci….I can’t wait to see what happens in Volume 2!

Review

I’m split down the middle on my feelings about Torrent, there was so much potential in the synopsis.  Torrent was definitely dark, twisted, and messed…Gemma writes dark well.  Gemma also writes erotic and sexy well.  I just didn’t fully connect to the characters or their history, maybe if we had revisited their past more in the story it would have been easier for me to feel their connection.  3 stars.

Eight years ago Alex De Luca sent an innocent man to prison.  That innocent man, Rafe Mason is now out of prison and seeking revenge on the woman who wronged him.   Rafe lost out on eight years of his life, during that time he lost out on so many things, his life basically destroyed.  So what’s a man do when he has all the time in the world on his hands?  He plots…..and he’s coming after Alex to make her pay and give him the answers as to why she would lie…Alex De Luca is about to lose her freedom and see how dark prison can make an innocent man. Rafe Mason is about to see how deep his love/hate for Alex runs.

Even with my lack of connecting to the characters, once I got to about the middle of the book, I couldn’t put it down until I seen where the story was going.   Boy, did I get a surprise when Torrent ended with a major cliffhanger! If you like messed-up, mind-freak, dark, steamy reads….you’ll like this one.

I liked this sexy Rockstar book with a BDSM twist.  Sure the story was a little predictable, and I would have loved to have seen more of a “chase” between Thea and Keaton before they gave into their feelings but overall this was a steamy, fun, quick read. 4 stars

Thea is a college freshman basketball player.  If she stays on top of her game, she could be the Rookie of the Year in the NCAA and help lead her team to the NCAA Championship. One night after a game she doesn’t do so well in, Thea meets Keaton…in the locker room…with no clothes on *blushes* and Keaton is not supposed to be in there.  This meeting sparks an instant attraction and Thea finds herself at Keaton’s concert…did I mention Keaton is a hot, sexy mysterious Rockstar?  Things heat up fast and furious between Thea and Keaton.  They meet up several times during their traveling for games and concerts and Thea explores her dominating side, that Keaton awakens…and Keaton loves to be dominated by Thea.  Can Thea juggle Keaton and their new kinky relationship all while keeping her head in the basketball game and not letting her team down?

 

If you love rockstar books you will enjoy this one.  Not to deep and emotional….How to Reprimand Your Rockstar had likeable characters and a smoldering storyline.  My only other little complaint is I would have liked a little more of an ending for Thea and Keaton.

Beautifully Done was a book I was really excited to read. I loved the first book, Beautifully Awake, and couldn't wait for more from this author. The book definitely didn't disappoint and lived up to my expectations! 4 stars for another great read!


Asher Craig doesn't do commitment. He works hard, plays hard, and screws hard-but that's where it stops. He's dedicated to his family and friends but has no intention of finding "Mrs. Right". When a familiar faces from his past pops back into his life, his world is turned upside down.


Talia ran away from her friends after an unplanned pregnancy as a teenager. Embarrassed and scared for her future she shuts everyone out and is unheard from for 20 years. When she suddenly sees Asher Craig unexpectedly all of her old feelings rush to the surface. As they continue to build their friendship again the only that can thing can tear them apart is their inability to trust each other and themselves.


I *loved* this book! After meeting Asher in the first book I knew he'd be a character that I loved. He's not only hot, dominant, and caring, but he is selflessly devoted to his friends and family-always putting them first. Talia is everything a girl can hope to be. Smart, beautiful, funny, and kind. Their attraction is inevitable and the love is palpable.


There were definitely some twists and turns in this book that took me by surprise! I can't go into them, obviously, but I never knew which way was up with these two up until the very last page!! Speaking of the end..OH EM GEE. Soooo not what I expected! This is a definite must read and I can't wait to see if there's more to come in this series!
