It’s no secret that I am a huge Pepper
Winters fan. She absolutely nailed the
title of this book….Destroyed pretty much sums up the characters and how I felt
as I was reading. Obsidian Fox is a very dark character; don’t
go into this story looking for a knight in shining armor. I’m not going to lie, parts of this book hurt
me to read it. I was gutted reading Roan’s
(Obsidian’s) story….I ached for him and Zel…I was scared of him and feared
throughout the majority of this book that he was not going to find his
redemption. The thing I really enjoyed was the storyline, it was original and
unique! Destroyed gets 4 dark, raw, and intriguing stars!

"Destroyed" is the story of
Roan “Obsidian” Fox and Hazel Hunter.
Hazel meets Obsidian by chance when she is out with a friend. These two are instantly drawn to each other, but
Hazel is put off by Obsidian’s cocky, controlling behavior but there is no way
Obsidian is going to let Hazel escape him, he has never been attracted to a
woman like he is Hazel…this chance meeting changes their lives forever. After a huge struggle they strike a deal of
sorts…after all, Zel will do anything to try and help the one she loves. The problem?
These two are scarred, and one is scarred almost to the point of no
return…where his life is a living breathing nightmare. Can they help each other heal and overcome
their pasts for a chance to live a normal life…for a chance to just be human?
What I struggled with…
The mini-intros at the beginning of each chapter just didn’t work for me. While I respect that Pepper tried to do something different, I just didn’t care for them and honestly they just kind of confused me and made the book longer than necessary.

Her touch shattered me. Her touch awoke me. Her
touch destroyed me.
Another enthralling Pepper Winters story I would recommend! Pepper writes damaged, twisted, heroes in a way that you can’t help but find the beauty in them and pray for their redemption.
