Turning Point by Tiffany Snow ~Blog Tour and Giveaway

Welcome to the TURNING POINT blog tour, the third book in The Kathleen Turner Series. There will be a total of five books in the series. Book four, OUT OF TURN, will be released on 12/17/13.

Blurb

After her promotion from law firm Runner to Investigator, Kathleen Turner is learning the ropes of her new job from none other than assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon, a situation her boyfriend Blane Kirk is none too happy about. But the lessons with Kathleen take a back seat when Kade becomes a target. Previously untouchable, his enemies now know of the chink in his armor – his brother’s girlfriend.
And Kade’s not the only thing coming between Kathleen and Blane. From Blane’s inexplicable defense of a man guilty of a horrible crime, to a mysterious stranger from Kathleen’s past, to Kathleen’ risky investigation into human traffickers, the obstacles mount against a relationship that’s just begun to find trust again.
While Blane considers a job offer that would take him back to the front lines in the war on terror, Kathleen is determined to pursue her new career, with or without his approval. Unfortunately, her current case is far more dangerous than anyone knows. Someone close to Blane will go to extreme lengths to split them up, lengths that may prove worse than death for Kathleen.
Kathleen, Blane and Kade must atone for the sins of the past and the present. The fallout will force Kathleen to a turning point…in her career, and her life.

Brandi's Thoughts

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I am really enjoying this series.  It has a Stephanie Plum kinda feel to them and I absolutely love that! If your looking for a series with passion, romance (and some steaminess), mystery, drama, suspense, and the ability to make you laugh our loud at points, you will love this series! I'm really enjoying reading it.

Questions for Tiffany

Sugar and Spice asked me what inspired me to write The Kathleen Turner Series?

Kathleen herself is an homage to one of my favorite heroines of all time – Nancy Drew. Kathleen’s strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes are a hat tip to Nancy as Kathleen pursues her own amateur sleuth goals, emphasis there on the amateur. I wanted to write about a character in her early twenties and just figuring out who she is and what she wants out of life, all of which becomes influenced by her boss, Alpha-male Navy SEAL turned attorney Blane Kirk. Their romance is tangled and sometimes Kathleen isn’t sure if Blane is the good guy or bad guy, whereas she knows for certain that his half-brother and assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon is definitely a bad guy. I wanted to continue my characters and their relationships through more than one book, thus the five-book series. Love triangles are like catnip for me and I was excited to write my own. The evolving relationships between Blane, Kathleen and Kade are the predominant theme through the series. Writing series characters is challenging and rewarding as they grow and change with events that happen to them.

Sugar and Spice asked me what authors or types of books do I like to read in my free time?

I love historical romance (Regency is my favorite) along with political thrillers and urban fantasy. Some of my favorite authors include Eloisa James, Jane Feather, Charlaine Harris, Lorraine Heath, Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy, Kathleen Woodiwiss, Kresley Cole, and JR Ward. I also enjoy historical non-fiction (my college degree is in History) and my favorite author there is David Hackett Fischer (I can’t recommend his book Washington’s Crossingenough). Lately I’ve been feeling nostalgic for when I first discovered The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris so I decided to reread the series. I just started Club Dead.
