Teaser

I stand there, nervously tugging at the hem of my top when he stands and walks toward me. Pressing his body flush against mine, grabbing my hips he whispers, “Miss me already?” He’s so close I have to tilt my head to look up at him. Timidly, I slide my hands up his bare chest and around the back of his neck. With piercing eyes he stands staring down at me intently. My breathing is shallow, and nerves swarm in my belly as I gently pull him down to me.

Looking up at him, I close my eyes as he presses his lips to mine. Slowly he moves his lips back and forth across mine. His tongue finds the smallest opening and urges my lips apart, and his kiss becomes more intimate. I gasp as he alternates between light, gentle and intense, deep kisses. My legs shake slightly as my body is overcome by the intensity of this moment. We are both breathing erratically when he drags his lips away from mine.

“I should go,” I say in a hush.

Pressing one last kiss to my lips he whispers, “I don’t want you to.” I reach behind me grasping the doorknob, “I know, but I need too.” I slip out of Gabe’s room and cross the hallway back to mine.

Bad Things by R.K. Lilley ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

BLURB:

Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.

One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.

She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?

For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

Review

Don't judge me.....I haven't read the "In Flight" series yet but I want to and need too! OMG, WOW! I loved this book and I loved Tristan! The things that came out of that boys mouth were just oh so yummilicious and R.K. knows how to steam up the pages of a book with her ability to write smoldering, sizzling, scorching hot sex scenes! 4.5 stars!

Danika always falls for the bad boy and when she meets Tristan Vega it's no exception.  The forge an instant connection and friendship and there is some obvious sexual tension but they don't want to ruin their friendship by acting on those feelings.  Danika needs relationships with love, she doesn't do casual sex and all Tristan does is casual sex, no relationships. They both have been burned in the past and Tristan and Danika find they have alot in common as far as their upbringing and past relationships. They grow tighter than ever spending all of their free time together.

As their friendship progresses, Tristan just wants Danika to live for the now and enjoy life, act the 21 years that she is and stop living like an old grandma. She gives into one night out in the clubs with him, and that night turns into many nights and this is where Danika really begins to live her life. Tristan shows her how to enjoy life and soon their is no denying the insane sexual tension that is between them.  Once they give in, things get complicated and obstacles get in their way. Can Danika and Tristan truly be happy together and will the bad boy finally commit to the good girl? Read on to find on!

I am now a huge fan of R.K. Lilley's! I loved this book and definitely recommend it. I can not wait for Tristan and Danika's story to continue.

The Enforcer by Nikki Worrell ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Synopsis

Lacey Benoit is in need of a fresh start. Her best friend, Dr. Zoe Millis, has been begging her to make the move from Maine to California. Taking a leap of faith, Lacey does just that.

Living in San Diego definitely has its perks, such as, sunshine and beaches. The best part of moving to the west coast, however, is that Steven is still on the east coast. Catching your almost husband having sex with one of your bridesmaids on your wedding day would make even the strongest woman jaded. Therefore, Lacey has sworn off men for a while, especially men who travel a lot that have easy access to loose women.

When Lacey meets the new enforcer for the San Diego Scorpions, she thinks she might be in trouble. But she is determined to fight her attraction to the sexy NHL hunk. And she is successful...for about a day.

Alternate POV

Jody knew he screwed up. He knew it while it was happening, but he was powerless to stop himself. Upending the chair may have been a bit much, yes, but in his defense – okay, maybe he didn’t have a solid defense.

Flowers wouldn’t cut it. Lacey couldn’t be bought. He was lucky she hadn’t given up on him yet. I have one chance to get this right. She has to know that I’ve given a lot of thought to what I did, and I’m truly sorry for my outburst. Jody started running through the things that were important to Lacey. He wanted to do something thoughtful to show her that he was more than a cave man who couldn’t control himself.

Ha!, he thought. Animals. Lacey loves animals. With an idea firmly planted in his head, Jody drove to the animal shelter. The closer he got, the more unsure he became about his idea of getting Lacey a puppy. She’d have to keep it at his house, since Zoe was allergic to animals. I got it!

Checkbook in hand, Jody walked into the shelter. He couldn’t believe how many barking dogs he heard. Wondering if Izzy would like a companion, he peeked around the corner into the kennels.

“Can I help you?”

Jody sighed and walked over to the desk, nixing the idea of another dog for the time being. “Yes, I’d like to make a donation of $1,000 in the name of Lacey Benoit. Would you have a certificate or something that you could write up?”

“Wow, $1,000? That’s great. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much that will help us with all of our critters here.”

On the way home from the shelter, Jody stopped at the mall and bought a frame to put the certificate in. His last stop of the day was to the florist. He was still going to send apology flowers from himself, (no roses, of course) but the certificate was going to be from Izzy. And he’d make Izzy apologize for her human’s behavior and sign it with her paw print.

Review

This was my first book about a Hockey player and it started off a bit slow for me but about half-way through Nikki found her groove and it picked up for me and I enjoyed it. Plus hey, I'm not gonna complain about a hot, alpha-male, hockey player as the lead male! Great debut novel for Nikki  4 stars.

The Enforcer is Lacey and Jody's story.  Lacey is trying to escape.  Escape the pain of her brother's death and get away from the pain of her ex's ultimate betrayal.  She thought her life was perfect, and she was devastated to find out she was wrong. So she decides to pack up everything when her best friend in San Diego calls and she moves out there with her. She gets lucky and lands a job interview with the San Diego Scorpions NHL Hockey Team.

Jody LaGrange is the Scorpions new Enforcer. He loves hockey and loves his position.  When he meets Lacey he instantly falls for her. Lacey's been burned in the past though, and it's going to take a lot of convincing on Jody's part to convince her that just cause he's a player on the ice doesn't mean he is one off the ice!

Congrats Nikki on you release! I def recommend you read this, especially if you love alpha male reads! One of my favorite things was the multiple POV's. Great love story, and I can't wait to read more of this series and see what the rest of the team is up to!

Private Message by Danielle Torella ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Synopsis:

Tess has never had sex. Believe it or not, she’s never had a decent kiss.

The aspiring Seattle painter and photographer is still recovering from the trauma of being beaten and nearly raped at a rock show nearly three years before. So she keeps life simple: she goes to school, goes to work in a coffee shop, goes home, goes on living.

But then Ben’s naked body crashes—almost literally—through Tess’s wall against the world.

Ben is doing his dad’s art-teacher girlfriend a favor when he agrees to pose nude for her drawing class. But what he draws is the interest of the irresistible punk-looking girl—and it’s interest he reciprocates, with interest.

Their sexual chemistry is too much to resist. But it’s when they have their clothes on that their heat quickly slips on ice. Ben’s womanizing history is one thing, but it’s history of another kind—related to that fateful night at the rock show—that threatens to tear the young lovers apart forever.

Additional POV: Ben

I am about to hop on my bike to go drown my sorrows for snapping at her in the classroom when I spot that redhead that was at Chatz that first night with her. I have to make things right. I pull out my cell and text her:

Big_Ben: I am once again sorry for the way I acted; I hope you can forgive me.

As I am hitting the send button, I approach Red. “Hey, I’m Ben.”

She eyes me suspiciously. “Yeah, I know who you are. What can I do for you?” Usually when a woman asks me that she is coming onto me, but she instead is skeptical. She starts to get in her expensive car so I have to just get to the point, before I lose my chance.

“Look, I was just in the art class with your friend Tess. I need to talk to her, or more like apologize, but a private message in a chatroom hardly comes off as sincere.” Just as I finish that part of my plea, I get a message back:

Punky_Painter: You don’t have to apologize. It seems irrelevant, considering we won’t have to see each other again.

Red is staring at me with a raised eyebrow as I read the text and I have a feeling she isn’t going to put up much of a fight. “So, I was wondering if you could tell me where she lives, so I can apologize in person.”

She is slowly nodding, but also thinking…shit. “Sure, I can tell you where she lives, but I don’t trust you enough to just tell you. So, I am going to take you there and go up with you.”

I huff, but you know what? I will take what I can get. “Thank you.”

I reply to her text:

Big_Ben: Don’t be so sure of that.

Review

Loved the concept behind this book....the whole "private message" story-line was a unique idea and something I hadn't read yet. I have to be honest, I expected a little more from this book,  there was so much potential here and with just a little more story-line development and character development to help the book flow better this could have been a 5 star read. Everything just felt so rushed and I didn't really have a chance to connect to any of the characters or even remember their descriptions. But all in all, this is still a great story and a good debut novel for Danielle and her writing will evolve over time because she obviously has some great ideas in that head of hers. 3 stars.

Tess is a virgin who meets Ben at a bar called Chatz. Tess is damaged from something that happened to her 3 years ago and is not very trusting of people and does not typically let people in. Ben is your typical manwhore who also doesn't do relationships. When Tess meets Ben there is an instant connection and attraction between the two that they can't deny.  That connection ends up bigger than the two could ever imagine as the story progresses and secrets are revealed.....some of which you see coming and the major plot twist which you don't. As for the epilogue and the ending...just a little abrupt....I'm thinking a possible sequel?

Congrats on your release Danielle! Even with the things I mentioned above this is still an enjoyable read.  Be sure to grab your copy, you may love it! Happy Reading!

Remember When 2: The Sequel by T. Torrest ~ Review

Synopsis

You know how sometimes, your high school crush grows up to be an insanely famous movie star? Okay, probably not. But I do.~Layla Warren

Back in high school, Trip Wiley’s fanbase only encompassed the denizens of the nothing little suburb of Norman, New Jersey.

Ten years later, all that is about to change.

In the summer of 2000, Layla Warren is enjoying her career as a journalist in New York City (well, sort of), while Trip spends most of his time grabbing Hollywood by the balls. In the days before what will turn out to be his skyrocketing fame, they’ll find themselves confronted with some life-altering choices.

Remember When 2 is the second story in an NA romance trilogy. It will bring you back to that exuberant and riotous time of life in your twenties when you struggled to figure out your place in the world and the person you were meant to be…

…and the person you were meant to be with.

Review

I fell in love with Trip and Layla in Remember When ( click on the title to see my review) and I fell even more in love with them in Remember When 2: The Sequel! I know I sound like a broken record but T. Torrest is NOT getting the recognition she deserves for this series....seriously where is the publishing deal? This is one of my favorite series ever, it completely knocked me off my feet and took me by surprise! 5 stars!!!

So, after reading Remember When and chatting with T. and getting a chance to be on the ARC list for RW2 I was like OH HELL YEAH!!!! I will read everything T. writes and I mean absolutely everything!

RW2 starts off 9 years later with a grown up Trip and Layla who have gone their separate ways, although Layla still frequently thought about Trip and followed his career online. We learn that over the years Trip and Layla stayed in touch through letters but eventually they lost touch but neither one really knows why. Anyhoo, Layla is working for a small magazine and Trip is an actor, having starred in some small roles but he is about to hit the big time having landed a starring role in big movie! Layla gets the chance to reconnect with Trip who is in NY filming his movie (he resides in LA) when she gets the opportunity to interview him for the magazine she works for. During the interview it's obvious the two still have that connection....that chemistry and unresolved feelings (and sweet baby, Trip is hotter than ever) but unfortunately alot has changed in their lives since they have been separated.

So the more time Trip and Layla spend together the more they fight their feelings but it's heard to deny the connection they have. Trip is determined to make Layla see that they should be together but Layla denies her feelings and is afraid that Trip just wants one more night with her but she is soooo wrong. I felt for Trip at the end of this book and then I felt for Layla.....how could they!!!!! Then when I learned the reason they lost touch......I was screaming unfreaking-believable....NOOOOOOOOO!

RW2 was definitely more angsty then RW and although I didn't have quite as many laugh out loud moments, the humor was still there and I have Lisa (Layla's best friend) to thank for that. The characters are living the adult life and Layla is not herself and not happy....her life is missing something and she has to figure out for herself what that is to make herself happy.

“I’m sorry about…ever letting you go. I’m sorry for all the time we wasted. I’m sorry for being here with you right now when we can’t do a damned thing about it.”

Congrats T on your release (even though you left me hanging girlfriend :).....I know I already told you but RW2 was perfect! This series is the perfect combo of angst, passion, laugh-out loud humor, hope, faith, and love. I laughed, I cried....tears, actual streaming tears, and I screamed at my kindle....can't wait until RW3, the wait will be excruciating but I hope once again I am on the early reading list <3

Love Plus One by Andrea Smith ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Title: Love Plus One

Series: G-Man #2

Author: Andrea Smith

Links: GOODREADS | AMAZON | BARNES&NOBLE | SMASHWORDS

Synopsis:

It had been a year ago that 19-year-old Lindsey Dennison’s life had taken an abrupt turn. While away at Cornell for her freshman year at college, her parents’ marriage had imploded. Lindsey learned the harsh truth about her father, and his involvement in criminal activity that was the focus of a major federal bust. Her father had slipped out of the country with his lover and cohort in crime, Susanne, shortly before the FBI arrest warrants could be served. He was now a fugitive from justice, deserting his only child. Lindsey was left trying to pick up the pieces of the life she now realized had been a house of secrets and lies for all of those years.

After her mother’s marriage to Eric Slater, one of the special agents of the FBI involved in the federal investigation that occurred in their hometown of Indianapolis, Lindsey decides to start fresh at a new college close to where her mother, step-father and baby brother Bryce are now living outside of Washington, D.C.

Life is different now for Lindsey, but it is about to change even more. Her step-father’s partner and best friend in the bureau, Trace “Taz” Matthews, is about to rock her world in more ways than one. Taz is nearly ten years older than Lindsey, but her initial interest in him is physical only. Lindsey has a problem that she is certain Taz can fix . . . but will he?

Despite their best efforts, Lindsey and Taz are tossed together by fate on more than one occasion, and this G-Man does not appreciate the distraction. There are complications for Sammie and Slate along the way as well. A risky pregnancy for Sammie requires the family to pull together and Lindsey’s life suddenly becomes increasingly complicated.

There is a budding romance on the horizon for Lindsey with a wealthy, Ivy-League type guy she meets at school by the name of Kyzer Stanfield. Kyzer’s interest in Lindsey does not sit well for Taz. When Lindsey must leave school to return home to help her mother, Taz is relieved that she will be distanced from the pursuit of Kyzer. . . but not for long.

Things are never quite as they seem. Lindsey will learn a brutal lesson about trust, compassion and strength. Taz will learn lessons about love, intimacy and honor, and that sometimes doing the right thing has consequences.

Warning: Explicit Sex, contains rape scene

Sweet Baby Taz! TAZ IS SMOKING HOT!!! Damn, I'm officially in love. Slate than Taz.....how's a girl to recover after these G-Man series men? I was new to this series and once I got my hands on the first book Diamond Girl and then Love Plus One I devoured them, in one day....and they are fairly long books, but they are soooo good you can't put them down! 4.5 stars!!

Poor Lindsey, she has had a lot happen to her in her life. Family issues, drama but she is one tough cookie and takes it all in stride. Then there's Taz....he's sexy, appealing, a player and he's Lindsey's step-dad's best friend and co-worker.  Lindsey's and Taz have chemistry but there's an age difference, Taz's relationship with Slate, and Lindsey is a virgin.  She decides she wants Taz to be her "sexual" teacher and Taz can't refuse for long.....game on! A no-strings attached relationship begins but soon we get feelings involved, family drama, suspense, and a gritty touchy subject matter that will knock you off your feet and take you on an unforgettable journey.

I highly recommend you read this series, it is now on my favorites ever shelf and I can't wait to see what is next for this series! Hot, alpha-male, tattooed, FBI agents with dirty mouths that are sexy as hell....yup what's not to love? And Andrea's from Ohio and so am I......hopefully one day I will get to meet her and fan-girl all over the place :)
