This book was fantastic…..so sad but oh so beautiful and amazing.  Bright Side is one of those books that you’re supposed to look beyond the sadness and see the true beauty within, the “Bright Side”, it touches your soul, even when parts may devastate you and break your heart. Kim does a fabulous job of making you see this, of showing you how stunning this story truly is…of making you feel the emotions, of making you live them, of making you breathe them, of making you fall in love with these characters. I can’t put into words how much I loved this book, top recommendation of mine! 5 stars.

“I fucked up. I fucked up so bad.”

Butterflies…that is what I feel right now as I right this review thinking back on Grant and Harlow’s love story. Abbi takes a sweet and romantic approach in One More Chance, throws in a little dash of steam and she pulls it off well. I expected a love triangle, that is not what we got and I was pleasantly surprised and relieved about that. I never expected to feel so many emotions will reading this book….I cried while reading Gran’ts voicemails, I cried while reading Harlow’s letters, and my heart soared while reading the conclusion of Grant and Harlow's epic love unfold. 4.5 stars

I don’t accept that I won’t get forever with you.

One More Chance takes off where the first book, Take a Chance ended. Harlow has left Grant after his epic mistake and is staying with her brother. She has not spoken to Grant or answered any of his calls. Grant is drowning in his grief and despair. I didn’t want to like Grant, I was angry at him after the way he reacted to Harlow after learning about her heart condition, but after reading that first voicemail and all the emotion Abbi wrote behind it…GAH…I had a hard time staying mad for long. Harlow is facing the same problem, she is not listening to Grant’s voicemails because she knows she will cave when she hears his voice. Harlow can’t hide forever though. She eventually will need to speak with Grant; after all she does have something she needs share with him. She is also planning for a big event in her life and will need as much support as she can get. The big question that remains though, is will Grant stick by Harlow’s side through it all…will Harlow give Grant One More Chance to right his wrongs?

One More Chance was a story of pain, fear, redemption, hope, and love. It had been awhile since I had read a Abbi Glines book, it takes quite a bit for a “sweet” book to sink its claws into me and Abbi wrote this one to perfection….the perfect heartfelt romance novel!

Five words – You Must Read Sweet Fall! This book…this book right here was such an incredible, beautiful story. I just can’t even describe how I felt reading this book. I honestly think I was crying from page one for Lexi, and then as the story continued I was crying for both of these characters….so much heartache, so much pain. My heart hurt, my heart broke…..my heart cheered for these to characters to get their HEA. Kudos’ to Tillie Cole for being brave and writing this story, and for capturing the breathtaking beauty of Lexi and Austin’s love so perfectly. 5 stars.

Lexi’s life if one big façade…she is faking it all. Her smiles are fake, her happiness is fake; she hides her unhappiness behind dark make-up and dyed hair. Even Lexi’s friends don’t even know the real person she is, Lexi doesn’t even know the “real” Lexi anymore. Lexi is struggling with anorexia, and the death of her best friend due to the disease. No one…not her parents, her friends, her doctor, know that Lexi is starting to once again succumb to the “voice”. She sees herself as “fat” and “ugly” when she is anything but that to other people.

Sweet Fall was a fantastically written, powerful book. It brought out so many emotions in me while I read it…hurt, anger, pain, angst, love. This book goes on my Top 10 favorite list from this year. A definite recommendation to add to your book shelves!

I once vowed that I would never fall again.  But today I fall willingly.

I will cherish the sweetest, most beautiful fall....

About the Author



Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish, which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.
