Confess by Colleen Hoover ~ Blog Tour and Review

CONFESS
BY COLLEEN HOOVER

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.

Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is keeping some major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…

Review

Two words…Colleen Hoover. That’s really all you need to know to buy this book. To me, Confess was interesting and good throughout the book. While I can’t say that Confess was my favorite Colleen book of all time it was definitely good, I just felt that Owen and Auburn’s relationship happened a little to fast for me. But Owen was definitely your typical swoonworthy Colleen hero. 4 stars.

“I love you so much.” His voice is breathless and full of fear. “I’ll love you forever. Even when I can’t.” My tears fall harder at his words. “And I’ll love you forever. Even when I shouldn't.”

Gahh…that prologue, I was sobbing from the very first page and the very last chapter was brilliant and pulled at my heart also. After the prologue, Auburn our heroine moves to Texas where she meets Owen. Owen is an artist whose paintings are based off of anonymous confessions slipped into his mailbox; he draws inspiration from those confessions. One day walking home, Auburn meets Owen and a strong connection is felt.

“There are people you meet that you get to know, and then there are people you meet that you already know.”

Circumstances and people are working against Auburn and Owen, as their story unfolds so does the truth.….

“He kisses me like he's giving me every kiss he wishes he could have given me the past, and every kiss he'll wish he could give me in the future.
All at once.”

I loved the real life Confessions…brilliant idea; I loved how Colleen always manages to incorporate something unique into her books…the art. Every single Colleen Hoover book is just consistently good and unique in their own way.
