Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover returns with a heart-stopping new series… Welcome to the Point.

There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.

Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.

Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.

Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize . . . some boys are just better when they’re bad.

“You don’t need anyone to show you how to be good, you’re so much better when you’re bad.”

Bad boys….we all love them; we all fantasize about them. Well, let me tell you….Bax is BAD to the bone! I am quite the fan of Jay’s….there was some parts of this story I the fact that Bax didn’t change who he was for the love of a women, but adapted and became as good as he could be without completely changing his stripes. Then there were some parts that I disliked…like the story just seemed to drag on and on, and it seriously confused I the only one? I couldn’t comprehend or follow what was going on with all the criminal stuff at some points. Overall though, a good story with a kick ass bad boy and heroine I loved! 3.75 - 4 stars.

“Are you scared of me?” His voice was scratchy.

I met his gaze steadily in the glass. “Terrified.”

“Do you trust me?”

“You going to bed with me?”

The story takes place in a rough part of town called The Point. Shane “Bax” Baxter is just released from prison after a five year sentence. The first thing Bax wants to know is why his best friend, Race, seems to have framed him, and his half-brother Titus was the arresting officer. The problem is, Race is missing, and his half-sister Dovie (whom Bax didn’t know existed) needs protected from the bad guys that are digging around. Soon, Bax and Dovie are caught in a tangled web, trying to find Race and figure out what is really going on…all while giving into this insane attraction between them that they feel will just end badly, but neither can resist.

“She was like some kind of redemption I never even realized I needed until we collided into each other’s lives.” ~Bax

"I’m never going to ask you to be a good guy, Bax, because I fell in love with you just the way you are. Bad.” ~Dovie

Better When He’s Bad was intriguing, raw, gritty, and action-packed. Like I mentioned above, I loved how Bax was sooo bad but, also had his good qualities. If you’re looking for a real bad boy…look no further, you’ll find him in Bax!
