Boomerang by Noelle August ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Displaying boomerang1.jpg

Synopsis:

The first book in a sensational New Adult trilogy from Noelle August

Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen with its no-fuss, no-commitments matchups, and where work is steamier than any random hook-up

Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.

Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.

What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.

As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?

Review

Overall, I enjoyed this story. No over-the-tops dramatics, not overly sappy….just a cute, fun love story. 3.5 stars

Boomerang is Mia Galliano and Ethan Vance’s story. The two meet in a bar one night, and wake up the next morning naked in bed together. Neither can remember the full details of the night before, and the morning after is just a tad bit awkward. Imagine their surprise when they share a taxi to start a new internship, they end up at the same location, and they learn they are both competing for the same job. The chemistry between the two is explosive…especially when they start remembering their night together, but with a no- relationship between co-workers policy in place at work they resist their feelings…..but for how long?

A sweet NA read! I loved the characters, the dialogue, and the story was refreshing but got a little tiring after so much back and forth. If you’re looking for a fun summer read, I think you will enjoy this one!

LORIN OBERWEGER began her storytelling career by captivating her first-grade class with tales of her summers on a kibbutz in Israel. Lorin had never been to Israel. She's an award-winning author and has also worked behind the scenes as a ghostwriter on a variety of projects. Her work has received starred Kirkus reviews and glowing mentions in The New York Times. Oh, she did get to see a kibbutz, eventually, and found out she had it pretty much right all along.

Veronica and Lorin met at a writing workshop and just knew they were destined to create awesome things together.

Wow!!! This story kept my hands gripped to it and holding on tight and it continues the saga of Sebastian aka Bastian Stark and Raine. I would suggest reading "Surviving Raine" first, but you don't have to, as this one could be read as a stand alone. Me, personally, I have a little OCD and had to read "Surviving Raine" first before I sat down and started reading this book.  I'm kicking myself for having SR sit on my TBRs for so long. I'm loving these two characters.

Bastian's Storm is the perfect title for this story. Bastian is a dark, complex and complicated man. His childhood left him missing out on all that a child should have growing up; love, support, happiness and good memories. He didn't have any of that. He's a survivor and a fighter. Or he was in the past and these fights always ended with only one living and breathing. He gave up that life years ago and since he and Raine were rescued from the tropical island, he's tried to be happy and fit in with society while they are living in Miami Beach. But he's got so much inner turmoil and demons inside him. Raine has brought out the good in him and made his life worth living. Even knowing who he was and what he's done in the past, she still loves him. She gives him hope, light and feeling rather than just feeling numb.

Bastian's past comes back and lives are threatened. He's torn because there's no way out. He has to be in this tournament, even though it's the last thing he wants to do and thought he'd never be a part of again.

Will he come out the winner??? Can he finally be the man he was meant to be for Raine?? Will the love they have for each other survive this next challenge?? I highly recommend this book. It's about overcoming the bad, believing in yourself, learning who to trust and let's not forget the suspense.

Take by Ella Frank ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Synopsis

TAKE – verb: to reach for and hold in one’s hands or get into one’s possession, power or control.

Logan Mitchell is a man who’s always been more than happy to take what he wants. It’s a philosophy that’s proven lucrative in both his business and personal life, and never was it more apparent than the night he laid eyes on Tate Morrison. After pulling out all the stops and convincing the sexy bartender to give him a try—he’s hooked.

Now, Logan finds himself in a predicament that demands more from him than a smart-ass answer and his innate ability to walk away when things get too deep.

He has a choice to make, and it’ll force him to do something he’s never done before—take a chance.

Tate Morrison knows all about taking a chance. He took the biggest one of his life the night he showed up at Logan’s apartment to explore his unexpected reaction to the man.

Ever since then, he’s thought about little else.

At first he was convinced his attraction was based solely on his body’s curiosity. But the more time he spends with the silver-tongued lawyer, the more Tate realizes that their physical chemistry is only the beginning.

He’s starting to catch a glimpse of what life with Logan would be like, and it’s one full of excitement and satisfaction—a far cry from what he had in the past with his soon to be ex-wife.

Each man will face their fears as they begin to understand the true meaning of give and take. Their feelings for one another will be tested, as will their very beliefs. But now that they’ve found love where they least expected it, will they be brave enough to reach out and take it?

Excerpt

“That’s your truck?”

“Yes.”

“It’s so…”

“So what?” Logan challenged as he pulled his keys from his pocket.

“Old?”

“Excuse me. I’ll have you know I was driving this baby all through college and she still runs like a dream.”

Tate watched as Logan walked over to run his hand over the scratched-up tailgate, and he was amazed that he even made that look sexy. Like he was stroking a lover.

“And it’s a she, huh?”

Now around at the passenger’s side, Logan opened the door and looked at him over the bed of the truck. “Yeah. Jealous?”

Laughing, Tate walked over to where Logan stood with a hand on the door and kissed him slowly on the mouth.

“I’m jealous of anything you stroke like that.”

“Get in the truck, Tate.”

“Or else?”

Logan stepped forward, crowding him back against the inside frame of the vehicle. “You’re not ready for the or else…”

Review

Oh.em.HOTNESS. I have been waiting for Take since I finished Try in ONE SITTING and can I just say...I couldn't put it down! 5 SCORCHING HOT stars!

I don't want to give too much away in this review but if you read Try you know that Logan and Tate have finally given into their needs. The need to be with each other physically and to take that step into a relationship. In Take they explore their emotional connection as others try to break them apart. Family, friends, and their pasts keep doubts in their minds, but can't keep them away from each other. Throughout the book they are learning the art of give and take to be with each other.

Holy.Hotness. This book didn't lose any of the pure, raw LUST that Try had. The passion and fire that Logan and Mitchel felt for each other made me want more and I finished this book in one sitting...and was panting for more at the end. It wasn't just their physical connection that I loved, but their emotional, too. They understood each other and they had a true need to be there for the other physically and emotionally. I am going to need book 3 to come out, like, tomorrow!!

So..if you can't tell, this book it is BEYOND worth the read and the reread. DO IT! I'm dying for book 3 and will definitely be reading this series over and over.

Seven years ago, Juan Martinez lost everything—his only parent, his home, his life as he’d known it. Alone, lost, and desperate, he turned to the Reyes Hispanos—the RH—one of the most violent gangs in South Texas. But when you sell your soul to the devil, you pay a heavy price. Convicted of a drive-by shooting, Juan has served hard time. Finally out on parole, he wants to disappear—from the RH, from memories of all that he’s lost, and especially from the gorgeous woman who just showed up next door.

Beth Garcia grew up following after her older brother, David, and his best friend, Juan. She always dreamed of a day when she’d be old enough for Juan to look at her as someone other than David’s little sister. But he disappeared at seventeen, after his mother was deported, and Beth thought she’d lost him forever. When she finds him living at the halfway house next door, she knows he’s still the same guy inside. Determined to save him from himself and the RH, Beth sets out to prove that he didn’t commit the crime he was convicted of. But the path to absolution is dark, and even Beth may not be able to discover the real Juan.

Can a man with a damaged soul and a beautiful heart let a woman with fierce loyalty and unwavering love risk it all to save him? Or will his past bury them both this time?

"You're killing me here, you know that, right?" I move a bit closer to her now, almost near enough to touch.

"Then stop fighting it," she whispers.

I take the last step, leaving only an inch between us, head to toe. I can see the shine on her sweet cherry lips, and smell the cinnamon in her hair. "It'll never work. I'll never be free, and I won't bury you with me."

She gazes up at me and there's so much trust in her eyes, so much faith and pure devotion, it literally steals my breath away. For a moment in time, everything stops. The birds in the trees, the cars rolling by on the street, the sun beating down on my skin. All of it just stops as if someone hit the pause button. I look into her eyes, and I can't fight it any more than I can fight the gravitational pull that keeps my feet on the ground.

My head tilts incrementally to one side, and lowers, bit by excruciating bit until her breath feathers across my face and my lips meet hers. I press against their softness, hearing the tiny gasp that she makes. The lipgloss is slick, and I can't help but think of all the other places on both her body and mine that I'd like to make slick. I feel my breathing ratchet up a few dozen notches as my mind goes to static. I haven't kissed a woman since the night before I went behind bars, and my engine is revving at full-throttle.

But Beth is special—beautiful and strong. If there is one thing I've learned working for the RH and living behind bars, it's how to control myself. When so much around you is out of control, you realize quickly that self-control is one of the best weapons you've got. As much as I want to press Beth up against the wall of the house right now and drive every part of me into every part of her, I don't. I stand stock still, hands fisted by my sides, and I gently, ever so softly, kiss her.

It's electrifying. Like someone just took a defibrillator to my poor shriveled lump of a heart. It surges to life and screams for freedom—freedom from the past, freedom from the sins, freedom to love this woman. I start to pull away, knowing that touching her more will only make the inevitable loss that much harder, but her hands snake up around my neck and against my lips she murmurs, "No."

"Beth," I gasp. "We can't."

She opens her eyes, lips millimeters from mine. Her long dark lashes sweep up and then down once, as she says, "Yes. We can."

Before I know what's happened we're together from knees to lips, her warm, giving curves molded against me in places that haven't felt this in so long they've forgotten just how amazing it can be.

I put my hands on her waist, willing myself to keep them there. Her fingers play with the short hairs at the nape of my neck, and even as my dick swells and turns hard as a rock, some kind of tension releases from her mouth to me as I stroke along her perfect white teeth. She tastes like the cherry lip gloss and I know that cherry candy will now be my favorite flavor until the day I die.

I can feel her nipples harden against my chest and I push my hard-on into her, desperate for relief. She groans and stands on her tiptoes, grinding her pelvis against me as she does.

My hands move up her sides, my thumbs finding the underneath of her breasts. If there were a form that was considered geometrically perfect, the curve of that sweet spot where her breasts meet her chest would be it. That curve should represent the most complex mathematical equation there is, and God, how I'd love to be the one man to solve it.

You really can’t go wrong with a Molly McAdams book.  That being said, this book is definitely not for everyone.  Love triangles…cheating…angst….insta love…if you don’t like these things in your books, then you will NOT enjoy Sharing You.  While this wasn’t my favorite book of Molly’s, I still enjoyed it. 3.5 stars

...as the only daughter of the perfect power couple, I was expected to be perfect as well.

Kamryn wants to escape her life….her perfect parents, her boyfriend that she doesn’t love, just escape her life in general.  When she learns her boyfriend plans to propose and make them the power couple of the racing world, she does the only thing she can think of to make herself happy….she runs.   I was back to hating this situation, hating that I couldn't claim him as mine, hating that I had to share him with another woman.

Kamryn starts life over, she meets new friends, starts her own business and life is great.  Then she meets Brody.  Brody is married and living a nightmare.  He is married to his high school sweetheart who has her claws sunk into him and won’t let him go.  It doesn’t matter that there is nothing between them anymore.  When Brady and Kamryn meet, it is an instant connection….and no matter how hard they try to fight it, it’s not long before they’re giving into those feelings.  Is there a happy ending for a relationship that started built on such lies and complications? …..That everything's perfect.  And how so long ago, I didn't know how we would ever make it through the beginning.
Like I mentioned above, this book isn’t for everyone.  Fans of Molly will certainly enjoy it.  Sharing You was emotional, angsty, sweet, and smoldering hot!

About Molly:

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry four-legged daughters. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm ... or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.
