force him to decide what really matters in his life, will he be able to choose a path - or will he always be conflicted?

 Review

This book was great! If you love Rock Star books you will definitely want to give these a try, I literally devoured this book in one day. I would recommend that you start with the first two books in the series if you haven't read them. 4 stars.

Conflicted is Derek and Joss's story. Joss is Blake's little sister so she is off limits to the band members, Blake is extremely protective. Having been a little lost in the last book, after receiving some treatment Joss is finally getting her life together, but one thing she knows for sure is she is not ready for a committed relationship, she wants to live a little, sow some wild oats. Derek is conflicted about an incident that happened in Vegas that has him questioning everything. Derek also has a dark past that he is still grieving over and the only person that can seem to help him is Joss. Oh, and boy do Joss and Derek have a past that no one knows about! When they come together again, they fight their feelings for each other and can't seem to get on the same page. Will Joss and Derek ever admit their true feelings for each other and get their shot at a HEA? Or will obstacles keep getting in their way?

"I'm addicted to you, but more than that, you're special to me. You always will be."

Conflicted was sexy, agnsty, heart-wrenching, and even funny at times. I love how in each book we get a look at all the band memebers and their lives. My only complaint is Derek and Joss spent most of this book apart and I would love to read more about them together. I can't wait for the next book in this series which is Kevin's!

Review

4 Stars

I think I may be biased when it comes to anything Jennifer Foor writes because I haven't found a book of hers yet that I don't absolutely love and Repair Me is no different.

Sky is running to the beach to escape life for a while. She just caught her long time boyfriend cheating on her and she's having a really hard time moving past it. Then life kicks her in the ass again; leaving her with a broken down car on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. With no cell phone service and nobody in site she's left helpless.

Ford left his dreams and college behind after a life altering family change. He now spends all of his time working at his family's auto-repair shop helping his alcoholic father keep it above ground. When his dad tells him to go rescue someone on the side of the road he finds the distraction that he needs-only if it is for the night.

When Sky and Ford agree to a one night stand they never thought emotions would come into play. When they keep getting thrown together afterwards can they fight the emotions and keep it strictly sex?

The sexual chemistry between Sky and Ford is off.the.charts. Throughout the book there is so much hotness you won't want to put it down. On top of the sex, the emotions that these two feel for each other instantly make you want to believe they're going to get their happy ever after. They both face so many emotional battles, both with each other and the outside world. The crazy ex, family secrets, scandal, and so much more make it hard for Sky and Ford to be together.

Throughout the book I found myself rooting for them both as a couple and as individuals. Both characters had so much emotional baggage that you just knew they'd have to find the strength within to ever make it work with each other.

I absolutely adored this book and everything about it. I am so glad it's a series and can't wait for the next one!

Beat of the Heart by Katie Ashley ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Synopsis

After years of bad relationships and a cheating ex-fiancé, twenty-eight-year-old Mia Martinelli prefers healing her patients’ hearts on the Cardiac Care floor rather than risking having her heart broken again. But that all comes to a screeching halt when caring for the head roadie for Runaway Train puts her into the orbit of drummer and Latin Lover, AJ Resendiz. After a scorching weekend of steamy passion, Mia’s intention of getting out with her heart unscathed is challenged by the stud with the wicked sense of humor, especially when he wants to continue seeing her. But when the harsh reality of AJ’s hoard of female admirers sends her insecurities into overdrive, Mia bails, leaving him handcuffed to his bathroom shower.

AJ never imagined that after two weeks of the best sex and female companionship he’d ever experienced, he would need rescued by his band mates from his shower prison. Although he tries to forget the sensual brunette whose curves made his mouth water, AJ can’t get her out of his mind…or his heart. Months later when he finally seeks Mia for answers as to why she left, nothing could prepare him for their life-altering reunion.

Can AJ prove to Mia that regardless of the women after his body, his heart belongs only to her?

AJ and Mia do the Rumba

As he moved, my eyes honed in on the flourishing movements of his hips. With his blazer off, I could see his back muscles flexing through his shirt. Moist heat burned between my legs at the way the rhythm moved so effortlessly through every inch of him. My mind couldn’t help wandering to what those hips and shoulders might feel like moving above me, my hands running up and down his corded back muscles as he thrust in and out of me….

AJ’s voice brought me out of my fantasy. “Got it?”

“What?”

He laughed. “Come on, Mia. This is the easiest part I could show you without blowing your mind with the complications.”

“It wouldn’t take much.”

“Let’s try it together.” Once again, he took the remote out of his pocket. He scanned through several songs. When a sultry, Latin beat came from the speakers, he shoved the remote back into his pocket. He then slid his arm around my back while the other went to clasp my hand. He waited for the music to pick up at the right place.

“Slow. Quick, quick, slow,” he instructed, his breath fanning across my cheek.

While the rhythm rippled easily through AJ’s body, I wasn’t quite getting the upper body flow or the swishing of the hips.

“Keep your frame locked, don’t slouch.”

I rolled my eyes. “Jesus, I feel like I stepped into Dirty Dancing.”

AJ laughed. “I don’t think I’ve ever been likened to Patrick Swayze, but hey, I’ll take it. The man had some serious moves.”

When I caught my reflection in the mirror, I tensed up. “AJ, I can’t do this. I’m completely robotic compared to you!”

“No, you’re not.”

“I tried to tell you before that I just don’t have it in me.” I dropped my arms from his shoulder and started to stalk off, but AJ tightened his grip on my hand before whirling me back against him.

“Yes, you do have it in you, Mia. And I’m going to show you.” He turned me to face the mirror before sliding behind me. His hands came to rest on my shoulders. “First of all, you’re way too tense. You need to loosen up. You have to let the music flow through you.” His deft fingers began massaging my neck and shoulders. His dark eyes locked on mine. “That’s it. Let the tension go. It’s only you and me here. No one is judging you.”

“But you—”

He shook his head. “You’re the one doubting yourself, not me.”

AJ’s fingers slid down, teasing along my clavicle. I felt the muscles in my neck and shoulders go limp. My eyelids started fluttering closed as he continued massaging me. “Mia, when will you get it through your thick, stubborn, Sicilian skull that your body is made for dancing…and for fucking.”

I popped my eyes open to stare open mouthed at his reflection. He winked at me. “Now for the lower half.” His hands slid down the side of my body, slightly catching the sides of my breasts, before coming to grip my hips. His hands rose up and down on my flesh, causing my hips to roll forward and backward. “That’s right.”

When he eased up on his grip, I kept up the same pace of undulating my hips. “Very nice.” He met my gaze in the mirror and grinned. “See, you don’t suck.” Keeping his eyes locked on mine, he slid his hands slowly back up my torso. My breath hitched when they paused above my ribs to tease the underside of my boobs. Surveying my reaction, he then splayed out his fingers to fully cup my breasts.

I raised my brows at him. “And when did groping second base get added to the rumba?” I questioned breathlessly.

His head dipped to nuzzle my neck. “It’s all part of my rumba.”

“I see.”

“Do you like it?” he asked, as his thumb and forefinger pebbled my nipple under the dress’s fabric.

“It’s not bad.”

“Hmm, ‘not bad’? That’s not exactly good, is it? Guess I better work on my moves.” His right hand released my breast and trailed down my side before coming to rest between my legs. “Think I might be able to sell you on third base better?”

A shudder rippled over me as he cupped and stroked me over my dress. Even through the fabric, I could feel the heat of his fingers. “Pretty good.”

“That’s what I like to hear.” When his hand left me, I moaned at the loss of sensation. In a flash, AJ was tugging at my hemline. My eyes widened when I watched his hand trail up my bare thigh.

Trying to steady my erratic heartbeat I sucked in a breath when his hand delved into my panties. “AJ—”

“Don’t fight it. Just feel.”

His fingers stroked my clit, causing me to whimper. My gaze darted over to the door, fearing that at any moment the instructor was going to walk in on us. As if he could read my mind, AJ said, “Don’t think about her. Just think about what my fingers feel like against your warm, wet pussy.”

I opened my mouth to protest, but AJ silenced me by sliding two fingers deep inside me. “Oh God,” I murmured. My eyes locked on AJ’s hooded gaze in the mirror. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t tear myself away from looking at what he was doing to me.

“Do you like watching me touch you?”

“Yes,” I panted.

“I like watching you react to me—the way your eyes widen, the way your chest rises and falls, the way your hips move.” He dipped his head to where his breath burned fiery against my ear. “I can’t wait until it’s my dick, not my fingers, that’s inside you.”

With my first male induced orgasm in six months within reach, I no longer cared that we were standing in a public place or that AJ had a thing for dirty talk unlike any of my other lovers. All I cared about in that moment was getting off. My arms went behind me to grasp onto his hips that were moving against my ass.

“Mmm, I’m close. Make me come, AJ,” I commanded.

Review

I enjoyed Music of the Heart, but I loved Beat of the Heart. Beat of the Heart just seemed more realistic to me and HELLO....what's not to love about "Mr. Latin Lover", who is sweet, sexy, can sing, and has moves on and of the dance floor! 4 stars.

“Now, that gentlemen, is the future Mrs. Resendiz, right there.”

A.J. Resendiz is the drummer for Runaway Train, he meets Mia Martinella, who is a cardiac care nurse when the band is visiting a friend in the hospital. Let's just say their first meeting is quite comical and it leaves Mia and embarrassed and A.J. wanting to know more about the feisty woman that just put him in his place.  A.J. and Mia can't deny the chemistry they share and soon they agree on a sexual relationship.

"Do you feel my heartbeat racing? That's for you and you alone."

Mia is one tough cookie and is carrying around a ton of baggage from several bad past relationships. It takes A.J. some work but he is finally able to wear down the tough exterior that Mia portrays and they soon find themselves falling. A.J. knows that Mia is the woman for him but a series of misunderstanding and A.J.'s reputation threaten everything.  Can A.J. convince Mia to face her past demons and trust him with her heart or will A.J. lose Mia for good?

"Thank you for giving me everything I hadn't realized I had ever wanted"

Definitely another series of Katie's I would recommend. A.J. is my favorite Runaway Train member yet. Beat of the Heart was funny, sweet, and smoking hot!

The Temptation of Lila and Ethan ~ Release Day Blitz and Giveaway

The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen (10/22/13)

On the surface, Lila Summers is flawless: good looks, expensive clothes, and a big, beautiful smile. But a dark past and even darker secrets are threatening to bubble over her perfect façade. She'll do anything to keep the emptiness inside hidden-which leads her into situations that always end badly. Whenever she hits bottom, there's only one person who's there to pull her out: Ethan Gregory.

Ethan set the rules a long time ago: he and Lila are just friends. He doesn't do relationships. Although his tattooed, bad boy exterior is a far cry from Lila's pretty princess image, Ethan can't deny they have a deeper connection than he's used to. If he's not careful, he could be in serious danger of becoming attached-and he's learned the hard way that attachment only leads to heartbreak.

When Lila falls farther than she ever has before, can Ethan continue to help as a friend? Or is he also getting close to falling . . . for her

Excerpt

“Why is this bothering you so much?”

“It’s not,” she snaps, turning her back to me. “I was just wondering why. That’s all.”

I stare at the back of her head as she rests her chin on her knees, staring out at the desert land. “It seems like you’re bothered,” I point out.

Her shoulders lift and descend as she shrugs. “If you leave, then I’ll be alone.” She mutters it so quietly I can barely hear her.

I’m silent for a while, unsure what to say or if there’s anything I can say—want to say. “You can come with me.” It slips out and I want to smack myself on the head. Taking her with me would defeat the purpose of escaping the noise and people, yet at the same time I know I’d miss her if I left her behind.

She glances over her shoulder with skepticism on her face. “Could you imagine me living in your truck, because I sure as heck can’t.”

“Why not?” Again, what the hell is wrong with my mouth? Why can’t I just let it go? She’s giving me such an easy out to a huge commitment I shouldn’t be taking.

“Because.”

“That’s the silliest reason I’ve ever heard.”

“Because I don’t understand why anyone would want to take off from a city where you have everything at hand and live in a truck where you have nothing but a backseat. It’s pretty much like being homeless.”

I kneel behind her, inching close to her, then hesitantly place my hand on her shoulder. “Shut your eyes.”

She leans away, like I’m scaring her. “Why? ”

“Because I’m going to prove what’s so awesome about my idea.” I wait for her to do what I ask and she stubbornly drags it on for longer than necessary, then finally surrenders and turns

around.

“Fine.” Her voice softens a little. “Show me what’s so great about a backseat.”

“There’s a lot of great things about a backseat,” I joke in a low voice, and then dip my lips toward her ear and whisper, “Now shut your eyes.”

I expect her to argue, but she very willingly obeys, shutting her eyes the second I utter the words. I shut mine, too, but only because being so close to her, breathing in her scent, feeling the warmth emitting from her body is driving my body into a frenzy.

“Now picture nothing but mountains,” I say softly, picturing it myself. “No city. No noise. No crazy-ass parents who act like children and treat their children like shit. No nothing. Just the quiet.”

“It seems like an awfully lonely place, if you ask me,” she tells me. “Just me and the dirt and the quiet. Although I wouldn’t mind the being without the parents part.”

“You wouldn’t be completely alone.” I sweep her head to the side and rest my chin on her shoulder. “You’d be with me.”

She pauses for an eternity and her breathing is ragged. Or maybe it’s mine. “What would we do at this mountain place together?” she says.

“Anything we wanted.”

“Hike?” There’s disdain in her voice.

“Maybe,” I say. “Or maybe we’d just sit and enjoy each other’s company in the quiet.”

She shifts her weight and situates her hands underneath her legs, leaning back against my chest. “That kind of sounds nice.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

As strange as it is, and as much of a pain in the ass asLila can be, I can actually picture us sitting together up on the mountains in the noiselessness, living in my truck, driving anywhere and everywhere. Together. And the comfort in the idea is kind of frightening because it means I’m thinking about

our future. Together. Shit.

I think about moving away from her, putting a little space between us because obviously I’m heading down a road I shouldn’t be headed down. The dream of living on the road has always been one I’d planned to live out alone and now suddenly I’m telling Lila she should come with me. God knows

what would happen between us if we lived in a truck with one another. We’d either grow really close or end up hating each other. Or maybe both. But I can’t bring myself to move and break the peaceful moment. So instead I sit down and wrap my legs and arms around her and we just sit there in the sun,
enjoying each other in the quiet.

With the promise of a new body, Mara dares to hope her plan may work--until Mara and Belinda both fall for sweet and charming Conor. But Mara's feelings for Conor aren't her only obstacle.

A spirit with whom Mara shares a dark past is possessing Conor. Now a war is waging inside and outside Belinda's body and she quickly discovers what Mara has known for centuries:

Falling in love is just as dangerous as battling evil spirits.

Set in a California beach town, Parallel Spirits is a paranormal romance about the power of love, water, and hope.

*This title has been revised and re-released in this second edition.

Parallel Spirits Excerpt Chapter 1

Mara’s POV

They say love is blind, but they’re wrong. Love is the harshest light shined on every insecurity, every weakness, every broken promise. It exposes its victims, laying their bloody hearts bare on a slab of cold stone. Love is not for the fainthearted. Love is for humans.

Finding another carrier spirit like me residing inside my best friend’s body was unbelievable. Falling in love with my best friend, having learned love’s deadliest lesson long ago, was foolish.

Samuel stands at the edge of the water with her cowering in his arms. The moonlight leaps off her black hair lighting up the expression of disbelief in his eyes.

“You said our spirits were destined for each other!” I shout at Samuel across the dark beach.

“Mara, I am telling you the truth,” he insists.

There’s something magical about the beach at night. The way the stars and the moon lay a twinkling blanket over the tumbling surface of the ocean. The black waves exploding into clouds of briny mist. It’s so violent yet so serene. It’s perfect on a night when you can’t decide if you’d rather live or die.

I plant my bare feet firmly in the wet sand. “Stop lying, Darius!” I shout. If he wants to call me Mara then I’ll call him by his spirit name as well.

A guttural sob builds in my throat and I feel as if I’m being split in half. Half of me wants to die and be done with the miserable business of being human. Half of me wants to return to my life as a carrier spirit, when nothing could harm me—and love couldn’t reach me.

My arms are stretched before me as I concentrate on holding in the energy building inside me. The restless sensation that penetrates down to my bones is unbearable. Telekinesis is only useful when you can control it. And right now, I am very out of control.

Excerpt

We reach the diner looking like a newlywed couple. Smiles, hugs, and happy. No one would guess we’re sweaty, hot, and tired. When I try to sit at the booth, I almost get whiplash when Nox pulls me into the same side as him. Close. The waitress comes over wearing a knowing smile. Before she gets to us, I pinch his thigh and hiss through a fake smile, “Would you stop doing that?”
He places his lips at the shell of my ear and whispers, “You keep pinching me and I might just pinch you somewhere you don’t want to be pinched, baby.”
Well…
That certainly shut me up.

Review

This book is not at all what I was expecting! I actually picked this book up because I thought it was a "dark read". It is no way a dark read, it is funny, romantic, sexy, and has a hint of mystery to it....one of the best books I have read in quite some time! 5 stars!

“I never realized how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful.”

Delilah "Lily" is living a sheltered life. Her father protects her and her sister (although her sister does get a little more freedom) and shelters them from the outside world because he fears for their safety.  She lives through her book characters, that is until the day that she is kidnapped.  Living in the safe house with her kidnappers, Lily makes friends for the first time and truly realizes what she has been missing out on and starts living her life.  She also has a hard to fighting her attraction to her kidnapper Nox.

Nox, the "kidnapper" is just doing his job.  He was hired by Lily's dad to keep her safe and that is exactly what he plans on doing, keep her safe with no feelings involved. Soon, he finds it hard to resist the feisty, attractive Lily and the spark between them. What happens when you fall in love with the person your not supposed to have, but your lifestyle does not allow room for love....how do you choose?

“His arms cinch around my waist and he buries his face into my neck. He says a muffled, “Don’t wanna let you go.”

My heart swells, I whisper back, “Then don’t.”

Read this book! One of my favorites this year.  It had laugh out loud moments, steamy moments, and moments that made me cry. I mentioned to my book besties that I don't think there was ever been a book where I have liked the hero and the heroine as much as I liked Lily and Nox....a must read!!!
