Review

After Gloria's Secret ended on a cliffhanger, I was so glad I had Gloria's Revenge in my hands! These were the first books of Nelle L'Amour's I had read.....they were very well written, emotional, intense, action packed, steamy, and so sexy! 4 stars!

Glori'a Revenge picks up exactly where it left you in Gloria's Secret, in Paris. I don't want to give any of the plot away because you need to experience it for yourself and it's really hard for me to summarize without giving spiolers. Just know, that I loved Jamie Zander even more in this book, even with all the angst, I loved Gloria and Jamie together and loved this conclusion....there are twist and turns and drama you never see coming that will leave you on the edge of your seat! Def a must read series!

Claire Contreras is one of my go to authors....I loved, loved, loved There is No Light in Darkness & Darkness Before Dawn, so when I seen she was writing Catch Me I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.  I was not disappointed, another book of Claire's I loved....4.5 stars!

I am in absolute love with this series. Beautiful Broken Rules really made me enjoy all of the characters, but BeautifulBroken Mess made me truly love them.


Jace has been in love with Audrey for years. He knows he made a huge mistake letting her get away all that time ago, but now he's stuck between a rock and a hard place; staying true to his heart or staying true to his brother.


Audrey's entire life has been an uphill battle (in the snow, barefoot, both ways). Regardless of circumstances she perseveres and makes it through college on her own. When she gets accepted to go to school in California, her and Jace end up face to face again and unable to keep their distance.


I want to read this book over and over and over. Jace is amazinggggg. I loved him on the platonic level before-but now? Now, I want to tie him to a bed and keep him for myself. He's hot, sexy, alpha, sweet, caring, and loyal to a fault. He loves Audrey so deeply and trying to overcome their obstacles tears him apart.


"Audrey, there aren't enough nights in a lifetime to get you out of my system."


Audrey was SO strong. She didn't let anyone knock her down. Even when she was turned away and depressed she kept pushing forward knowing she was strong enough to get through whatever life throws her away.


What I really loved about this book was the friendships and loyalty among all of the characters. They were a family and stuck through the thick and thin for each other. All of their faults were accepted, their strengths were embraced, and the love for each other was off the charts.


Beautiful Broken Mess made me feel every emotion possible-I went from wanting to kiss the daylights out of Jace to being ready to punch someone in the face. Get yourself ready for a roller coaster ride with this book. This is an absolute must read!

Today, I wanted to share a sexy excerpt from the book that introduces you to hero and heroine Nick Rixey and Becca Merritt – enjoy!

 

Excerpt:

Nick sniffed and murmured, and his breathing slowly changed from the slow, shallow draws of sleep to the deeper pattern of wakefulness. “What are you thinking so hard about?” he said, his voice a seductive, raw gravel.

“Nothing,” Becca whispered.

“Bad liar, remember?”

She smiled. Not even awake and he was already a smart-ass. “You’re laying on me.”

He lifted his head, eyes still soft with sleep and oh so bright. “Er, oh, God, Bec—”

“Don’t move, please? I wasn’t complaining.”

“Then what—”

“It’s just…” The way he was looking at her, half concerned, half like he might make her every dream come true, had her spilling a fast stream of honesty that was about five point two light-years beyond oversharing. “I’m horny. And you’re hot as hell. And we’re clearly trying to be good. Although, I’m not sure why, exactly. And, anyway, I don’t want you to move. Because I like the feel of you. And I—”

His mouth swallowed the rest of the nonsense spilling from her lips. The kiss was aggressive and needful, his tongue twining with hers, his hands in her hair, his chest atop her breasts. For a long moment, she was so stunned by the kiss that all she could do was give in to the sensual assault. His leg pressed between her legs, hard against her clit, the bunching and shifting of his muscles shoving her step by step closer to the edge of restraint. A stream of moans and whimpers worked their way up her throat until finally she couldn’t stop her hips from dancing against his thigh.

“Nick,” she rasped around the edge of a kiss. “Oh, God.”

“What?” he said, pulling back. He stroked his nose over her cheek to her ear. “What’s the matter?” He eased his thigh away.

Her whimper was full of protest for the loss of him. The sexy bastard chuckled. “Don’t stop,” she managed.

Tracing his tongue around the shell of her ear, he rocked his hips against her nice and slow. “Don’t’ stop what?”

Becca swallowed roughly, arousal making it hard to breathe, hard to think. “You’re teasing me.”

He chuffed out another small laugh in her ear, casting shivers over her skin. “I am.”

Digging her fingers into his hair, she grasped tow handfuls and held tight. “Well don’t. I want…”

Nick’s tongue was in her mouth again, exploring every wet corner and stealing her breath. He pulled back, panting. “What? What do you want, sunshine?”

The nickname tugged her heart into the action, too. Did he realize he said it? “I like when you call me that.”

He bit her bottom lip and tugged, his gaze boring into hers, one eyebrow arched. “What do you want?”

Review

This is my first read of Laura Kaye's and I enjoyed it.  Loved the element of mystery to it and of course, what's not to like about a sexy ex-army hero with tattoos?!? 4stars.

Becca Merritt's brother is missing, probably kidnapped, and the only thing she has is a note her brother left her telling her to contact a member of her father's special force team.  Nick Rixey works at and is co-owner of a tattoo parlor that he shares with his brother.  When his ex-commander's daughter comes to him for help he doesn't want to help her.  His ex-commander was dirty but he just can't turn his back on this women that seems to have his blood pumping again.  When he follows Becca, he soon realizes her situation and she is somehow in deeper than he initially thought.  With Nick's help they are able to uncover the mystery surrounding her brother's disappearance and Nick is able to keep Becca safe. Once Becca learns the truth about her father, will she turn her back on Nick or give into the intense chemistry and feelings surrounding them?

I enjoyed this story, and def recommend it.  Can't wait for the next book in the series and finding more about what happens to these characters.

Falling deep into his amazing kisses and his gentle yet possessive embrace as he continued to kiss her endlessly, she could already feel herself giving into the idea.

He finally pulled away to catch his breath and stared deep in her eyes. “Brandon?” she asked, breathlessly.

“Hm?” he said, kissing her lips again softly then her chin and working his way down her neck.

“Are we friends now?”

His kisses ceased for a moment before he kissed then sucked on her neck softly. “Nope,” he said before sucking her neck a little harder, every part of her body trembling in response.

Confused because he’d just given her this speech about how he was making an exception for her, she had to ask. “Why not? I thought—”

He lifted his head and latched his teeth onto her bottom lip before she could finish, then bit down just enough to make it hurt so good—a sensation she’d never felt before. Sucking it one last time before pulling away, he stared at her very seriously, and his expression went soft again. “Silly girl,” he said with a peck. “I already told you my stand on men and women being friends.”

“But—”

His mouth was on hers again, kissing her in that crazed way he had the first day, the way that made her wild with desire, and she moaned in reaction to it. She wrapped her arms around him as he lifted himself onto her, obviously being careful that he didn’t touch her bad ankle. Pressed against her like this, there was no denying he was as aroused as she felt, and he continued to devour her mouth, her lips, and her tongue, like a man on a mission to make her come by just kissing her.

Just when she thought she couldn’t take it anymore, that she might shamelessly moan, he pulled away and stared into her eyes very seriously, his hands cradling her face as he tried to calm his own labored breathing. “We’re not friends. We never will be, okay?” She nodded, not sure if she should be hurt or not. “I’m just gonna be upfront about this now so there is no doubt. I don’t mean this sexually, Regina. In that sense, we can go as slow as you want, but if, after this weekend, we’re not more than friends, then things go back to the way they were before Friday. If I’m gonna make this exception, then it’s either all or nothing. Anything in between is unacceptable.”

 

 

Review

 

Breaking Brandon is a spin off to the Moreno brothers so if your a fan of Elizabeth Reyes and follow her books then you meet Brandon in Sweet Sofie. If you haven't read the Moreno Brother’s Series or the 5th Street series, I highly recommend you moving them up on your TBR.  I LOVE Elizabeth's books.  Breaking Brandon did not disappointment, it may be my favorite yet, but then again I say that with every book Elizabeth releases....emotional, intense, angsty....so so good, there is just something about the wounded, heart-broken hero that gets me every-time! 4.5 stars! 

In Breaking Brandon we follow Brandon and Regina.  Brandon has a rough life....he's lost his parents and the girl of his dreams doesn't share his feelings, so he just turns his emotions off.  He builds these walls up, not letting anyone in and focuses on his career in the military.  Then he meets Regina....Regina reminds Brandon so much of the girl that wounded him that he instantly dislikes Regina, and he is not very nice to her.  It's not long before Regina breaks down Brandon's walls and wiggles her way into Brandon's heart.  But Regina has had her own share of grief and heartbreak and has built up her own walls.  It's not long before these two can't stop thinking about the other and definitely can't deny the chemistry they share.  Can these two help each other heal or will they runaway from love when faced with an unfortunate twist of fate? 

Absolutely, loved this book.....passionate, intense, heartbreaking and sooooo sexy! Can't wait to see who is next up in this series and hopefully get a glance of more of these characters.

Christmas and my birthday had come to me early this year, and both at the same time apparently.


Then I watched him get up from the bed and head into his bathroom. I heard the shower turn on and then the opening and closing of cupboards. He loved me. Neil really loved me, but damn if I’d allow him to kiss me again before I got clean and comfortable. I felt utterly gross and hideous and still had trouble processing all that had just happened with us in the span of a very few hours.


I left his bed and headed into the bathroom. The shower was already hot and steaming up the small space. As promised he’d set out his toothbrush and paste for me to use, and even some silky boxers and a soft black T-shirt with The Jimi Hendrix Experience in white letters across the front.


I knew Neil was a Hendrix fan and I’d even seen him wearing this very shirt on occasion, and yet the fact he’d picked it out for me in particular, touched me. I reached for it and buried my face in its softness, inhaling deeply. Neil’s scent has always been heavenly to me and I’d been addicted to it for years. Hard to describe, but absolutely lush on my sensibilities. Like fresh air and forest spice and pure water all combined into the perfect blend of male fragrance.


And I’d been restricted from indulging in it for most of my life. But not anymore.


I shut the bathroom door, stripped out of my bra and knickers, and got clean in my boyfriend’s shower. I so loved the words contained in that thought.


I’m sure I wore a ridiculous grin on my face the whole time I scrubbed. Once I was done in his shower and working out my teeth with his own personal toothbrush, I still kept grinning into the mirror like an idiot, glad the door was shut and Neil couldn’t see how much of a lovesick fool I was being right now. Pointless indeed. He would know it the moment I stepped out anyway. He probably already did know it.


I left the bathroom dressed in his T-shirt and silky boxer shorts. Better than naked in a towel or my puked-spotted clothes and really sexy to have my skin against things that had been against his previously.


His shirt came down to the top of my thighs and I’d already decided I was keeping the thing. Yeah, Neil’s beloved Hendrix shirt would forever belong to me. I had absolutely no qualms about my thievery either. I didn’t want to have to be without the scent of him once his leave was over. I wouldn’t have him for long before he had to go back to being owned by the British Army in Afghanistan. That meant his shirt wasn’t getting washed anytime soon. If ever.


My inner ramblings distracted me to the point I wasn’t thinking about what might be waiting for me when I came out. But the sight that greeted me upon my return to the bedroom in nothing but Neil’s shorts and shirt, was not even close to what I expected. Stopping dead in my tracks, I’m sure my eyes were bugging out of my skull. The towel I’d been using to dry my hair slid from my grip and onto the floor with a soft thud.


Neil was in his bed, and he was definitely waiting for me.


Holy Hell, he was a beautiful man. Sitting up against the headboard, he was leaning back, his wide bare chest exposed for my eyes to drink in. The cuts and angles of his hard muscles and golden skin in contrast to the white sheets nearly made me whimper aloud. I wanted to touch him so badly and knew there was a very good chance I would be getting my wish soon.


I could see that his nipples were hard, his gaze trained upon me deep with liquidity, mysterious and sensual with a bit of an edge. I could only imagine what he was thinking about right now. Sweaty, crazy, naked shagging I’m sure. I definitely was.


My nipples were hard too, and I felt an involuntary shiver roll down my spine at the thought of Neil putting his hands on them.


I’d seen his body before. I knew what Neil looked like without his shirt on, and I knew very well about the washboard abs, and how they tapered into a V at his hips that made my insides a quivering mess whenever I was lucky enough to get a decent look at him. Which happened only on occasion, unfortunately.


Neil was blessed with an earthly form that easily put him into mythical god territory, but I’d never been in a position to allow myself to think of him in that way. Those times I’d seen him had been when he was working out with Ian or roughing ’round with boys at football or having a swim.


This situation right now was completely different. Neil was like this for me and for me alone. He was offering himself to me—his body for my eyes to see, for my hands to touch, and for my lips to kiss.


“You’ve dropped your towel,” he said softly, splaying a hand out over the sheet, making his forearm muscle flex.


“I know.” I struggled to breathe through the pounding inside my chest and reached down for the towel.


“Leave it.”


Neil’s voice was harder, different—a command really. I froze in step, flipping my eyes up so I could see his face and understand what he meant.


His long muscled arms were stretched out toward me. “Come here, beautiful,” he said softly. “Don’t think about anything that scares you right now. It’s only me…and you.”


I nodded at him but no words would come from my mouth. All I could do was take in the experience of the moment and try to hear what he was saying to me.


“I want to hold you, and be close, and know that nobody is going to come between us or try to take you away from me. I want you all to myself for once.” He tilted his head a little. “Do you understand?”


“I do,” I managed.


Neil kept his arms out, his eyes glittering at me in a way I’d never experienced from him before. He was demanding from me sure, but that’s not what gave me pause. The feelings rushing through me were thrilling, but also very frightening at the same time. My emotions paralyzed me because I really understood, right then and there in that moment, the enormity of what I was doing. Giving myself over to another person. Giving myself to Neil.


It made me extremely vulnerable now didn’t it?


I felt the warning kiss of fear brush over my heart as clearly as a cold breeze that makes you rub your own arms in an effort to ward off a shivering chill.


I didn’t know how I’d survive if I lost him now. If he stopped loving me I wouldn’t be able to bear it. Or if I lost him to the war, which was a terrifying risk all on its own, and one he took every day he remained in active military service. I’d never make it out intact. Losing Neil would destroy me after this night.


“Don’t think about the bad things, Elaina. Let all that go and come to me. My beautiful Cherry Girl…come over here and let me love you.”


I went.
