Review

I know I’ve said this before in my previous review of Arouse…..but this series right here is why I love to read, and Nina has once again sparked my love of reading!  It’s because Nina makes you FEEL and experience every single emotion as if you were living it…breathing it….from the first paragraph (see below) to the last paragraph, I was a goner!

Even from thousands of miles away, I can feel my husband.  I feel his thoughts brushing against my skin, the breathing of his heart in rhythm with mine I feel him in the world, a powerful, unyielding presence who will forever be my shelter of safety and warmth.

 

Do you see what I’m taking about? Can you feel it? My god, I felt Liv’s passion for Dean and throughout this book I felt how Dean loved his wife.  And boy did Dean LOVE his wife! Dean love’s Liv how a wife is supposed to be loved…fully and completely.

 

I have followed Liv and Dean’s story from the very beginning and the journey has been absolutely beautiful.  Awaken was the perfect conclusion to their epic love story.  There was no over the top drama, some things I predicted, some things I did not.  Nina perfectly wrapped up the story and I couldn’t have been happier with the way it ended.  It was very bittersweet for me however, this is without a doubt my favorite married book couple, and I just did not want to let them go. 

The Story

Awaken begins with Dean and Liv apart.  Dean has done to Italy to lead an excavation project and escape Mirror Lake due to false allegations from a student.  He is on leave of absence from his job as a professor while the investigation is underway.  Even though Dean does not want to be separated from Liv, they really need the time apart.  While Dean is gone, Liv and Dean decide to date again and put back together the pieces of their marriage, and remember why they fell for the other in the first place.  Also, Liv learns to stand on her own two feet with Dean being gone. Liv is so used to Dean taking care of her and the time apart really gives Liv a chance to find herself.  There is still so much more to this story that I’m leaving out, but you have to read it for yourself to experience it because I don’t want to spoil it!

Final Thoughts

 

This is a 5++++ star series for me.  Nina’s writing is beautiful, flawless, and passionate. She has this ability to evoke emotions in readers that is truly just amazing.  Dean and Liv’s relationship is intense, emotional, romantic, sexy…..an unforgettable, fairytale love story and a definite must read…absolute PERFECTION!
