4 Stars

I freakin' love when I get to finish a series and Cole didn't let me down!

Cole picked up at the huge cliff hanger at the end of Inky. It's hard to review this without giving anything away but let's just say YOU HAVE TO READ IT!

Inky and Cole are both amazingly strong people and endure so much to fight for their love. Throughout the book I laughed, worried, and even teared up at the obstacles they faced-both emotionally and physically.

Once again the supporting characters kept me intrigued, but I do wish we saw more of them. The first book definitely had them more involved in the story then this book. We also met new characters in this story that I wish we learned more about, but it appears that there will be other books in the series so maybe it will be about them!

Cole definitely lived up to the first book and made me fall in love even more with this couple. This series so far has kept me completely intrigued and loving the characters! Cole Carlyle is a hot piece of ass and I'm so sad his story is over. I can't wait for what appears to be Nico's story next!!

“Don’t move, baby.” He said gently.
“I’m not going anywhere.” I sat Indian style on the bed and hugged my knees up to my chest letting my head rest against them. “You know what?”
“What?” I heard from the direction of the bathroom.
“I always called Evan ‘baby’. My Dad called me ‘baby’ and I wanted to save it for the man I would marry. I’m sorry I wasted it on him when I have you.” He was behind me, pulling my hair back when I felt a brush against my scalp…heaven. “That feels wonderful…what are you doing?”
“I’m getting you ready for bed.” I could hear his smile.
“You’re brushing my hair.” I sighed happily, stating the obvious. “Wouldn’t you rather be having hot-drunk-no holds barred-sex?”
“Does this feel good?”
“It feels incredible.”
“Then we can have hot-drunk- no holds barred-sex another night. But tonight, Christmas Eve, I want you to remember this. I want it to be special. Both of us in our cupcake pajama’s, me holding you, taking care of you…this is the beginning of our life together…baby.”

Julie is a Southern California native, a fan of a really good story (preferably romance with a happily ever after), really good pie (preferably pumpkin) and copious amounts of coffee (preferably Folgers).

She has always enjoyed writing and at one time thought she could be a singer songwriter...the 'writer' part is the one that stuck.

Julie is obsessed with pi...the equation(and the food). She's allergic to cats and cantaloupe and hates if you ever want to give her a gift, those are out for sure. She currently lives with her own romance hero husband and two boys in Melbourne, Australia.

I loved this book! If you haven't read Translation of Love make sure you do, then read Desperation of Love! Alex definitely gives Victor a run for his money as the sexiest Garza brother! Desperation of Love was agnsty, sweet, and sexy. 4 stars

Character Bio:
Caleb Cochran was born in Clark's Corner.  His family has been there for generations, active members of their community as blue collar small business owners of what is now Cochran Plumbing and Heating.  Instead of going to college, Caleb decided early on to join his father in the family business.  He pursued his education as master plumber and since his father's retirement, has become owner of the company as well as chief of the volunteer fire department.  Caleb is 38 years old.  His calm, friendly demeanor and ability to take control of seemingly any situation has endeared him to nearly everybody in town, but these same qualities also belie his ever present heartbreak.  As a young man, he married his childhood sweetheart Julie.  Together, they bought a small, classic New England style white Cape on Church Street.  Three years later, she was dead from cancer.  With the help of his father, he learned to carry his grief with dignity, the only acknowledgment of his emotional agony, the picture of her in his kitchen where he could see it every morning.  She was in her white dress, caught in the moment of laughing into the camera, her dark hair swirling around her.  Caleb would look at the picture and consciously put all thoughts of marriage and family behind him.  That is, until he met Lauren Smith.  She triggered something in him and all his pent up emotions burst forth in an intensity that swept them both to new heights.

Caleb, here are a few questions we'd like to ask you.  Gives us a little peek into the inner man.

  1. What is your ideal woman like?
My ideal woman is feminine.  I guess by that I mean, she's not afraid to be female.  She likes to see me coming and she appreciates my masculinity.  Hair color, height, weight, those things aren't that important.  It's the essence of her that makes her attractive to me.  Somebody who loves who she is and smiles alot, loves to make love, loves me, makes me laugh.  Somebody who will put the harness on with me and shoulder to shoulder, go through life with me, supporting me as I support her.

  1. What do you like the least about yourself?
Hm.  I guess I don't spend too much time thinking about my strengths and weaknesses.  I just find a way to do what has to be done.  If I have to name something, I guess I'm kinda clumsy, physically and emotionally.  I feel like I'm sort of an oaf.

  1. What are the three most important things in life to you?
That's pretty easy to answer.  My wife Lauren is the most important thing to me.  Number two would be the rest of my family and number three would be my responsibilities, to my family, my business, and my community.  I have a lot of pride in being a responsible person, somebody you can always depend on.  Oh, and a really good, really cold beer is right up there on the list, too!
  1. What music is on your playlist right now?
I have different music for different situations, I guess.  When we're on the job working, the guys and I like Jason Aldeen, Eric Church, Sugarland.  If I'm feeling kinda introspective, I've got Of Monsters and Men, and Mumford and Sons.  And, when I'm riding around in my truck by myself, I guess I kinda revert to type.  I listen to the stuff my Dad used to listen to when I was a kid.  The best of Johnny Cash, and some good old fashioned Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.  Who doesn't love an American girl!

  1. What is your favorite curse/dirty word?
Haha! That's a funny question.  I don't swear much.  I don't know why.  I just don't.  Guess I don't lose my temper very often.  Probably, son-of-a-bitch would be it.  I learned it from my father!  Pretty tame, huh!

  1. How do you seduce and/or excite a woman?
I think you've got to start by getting her to feel relaxed.  I mean totally relaxed, so she's feeling safe and secure, enough to give honestly of herself.  I like to drink a beer and talk, and let her talk.  A few well placed kisses usually gets things started.  I find women liked to be kissed.  Alot.  Everywhere.  Oh, and on the practical side, keep her warm.  Women like to be warm!

  1. Where is the most interesting place you’ve ever made love?
I'm kind of an old fashioned guy.  I've made love lots of places, and I don't know if it's the most interesting or not, but it's one of my favorite places, in the field below our house at sunset.  Ofcourse, that's seasonal, but maybe that's what makes it special.  The other thing to keep in mind, is not the place, but how it's carried off.  You can't beat spontaneity.  When you're both feeling it, find a place and do it.  I've acted on impulse in the house, in the fields, in vehicles, and up against the wall in the horse barn.  It's electrifying!

What's a Girl to Do by Aimee Duffy ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

The first novella in a thrilling, pulse-racing new erotic romance series, Indecent Proposals. Three best friends, Shey, Eloisa and Georgia take on the most powerful and eligible men of the New York dating scene.

Perfect for fans of bestselling erotic romance authors Sylvia Day and E.L. James!

'I'm not coming over.' Shey replied confidently.
'Then maybe you could return the favor now.'
Wait, he didn't mean...
'Slide your hand beneath your panties and tell me how ready you are for me.'
Oh my god, he did.

Single Manhattanite Shey Lopez doesn't do one night stands, or have relationships she can't control. Especially if giving in to playboy Calvin Jones means losing her heart in the process.

However, Mr Won't-Take-No-For-An-Answer always gets what he wants and there's only so many times a girl can resist such an enticing proposal...

My last couple of reads have been emotional, heavy reads so this novella was refreshing and light, just what I needed. Nothing too heavy, short, quick, sexy, hot, and fun! 3.75 stars

Shey has no time for relationships and she doesn't do one night stands. She doesn't want to turn into her mother and make the same mistakes that she made in the past. Calvin doesn't do relationships, he had a messy divorce and the last thing on his mind is a relationship and monogamy..plain and simple...Calvin wants no emotional attachment, one night stands. When Shey and Calvin meet their desire is mutual, attraction instant. It's not long before they can't resist each other and they become friends with benefits. But of course with relationships like these feelings always get involved. What's a Girl to Do? Will she take a risk and fall in love and go after the life she deserves with the guy her heart wants?

If your looking for a sexy, steamy book to fill up a few hours of your day then What's a Girl to Do is just the fix you need!

About me (snooze—can you tell I hate the me stuff? Lol)

For as long as I can remember, I've had a good book in my hands. In primary school I loved Roald Dahl. In high school my English teacher introduced me to Charles Dickens, Stephen King, Jane Austin, Emily Bronte, and Shakespeare. It was then that I discovered my love for romance and I've wanted to pen my own imaginary heroes and heroines for others to enjoy ever since. Only in the last few years was I lucky enough to meet some fabulous and encouraging people to help me gain the skills to make that dream possible.

I live in sunny Scotland in a small town near the Ochils and work nine to five in a solicitors office. In my free time, you'll find me on Facebook, stalking *cough* following friends on Twitter, and may even catch me shoe shopping.

Edge of Darkness by Melissa Andrea ~ Blog Tour

The Edge of Darkness Cover (new)

After a tragic accident, Araya Noelle is left with a constant reminder that nothing is forever.

She is forced to give up her chance to be the youngest dancer accepted into Julliard & taking over their high society school by a graceful storm of determination is no longer an option. Instead of dwelling over her loss, she accepts the new future she’s been dealt. In a world as black as hers, there's no room for bitterness, no time for regret. Sheltered from the outside world, Araya has become suffocated by a life she has no control over. Until Ryland Dare comes crashing into her life. You don’t know true darkness until you've felt light… Like a firecracker, showering her with colorful sparks of freedom, Ryland quickly sweeps Araya away from her grey existence. For the first time since the accident, living in darkness is no longer something Araya wants to do willingly. Unleashed by the shadows of her reminder, being with Ryland, Araya touches light. Together they will learn what it’s like to feel alive for the first time. At the edge of darkness, a ray of light, will dare them both to HOPE. DARE them to LOVE DARE them to LIVE

“I’ve never met anyone like you before Araya. The way you view life and love;

you’re not angry with anything that’s happened to you.”

I turned my head toward him, and a smile tilted the corner of my lips. “Yeah, I’m kind of amazing that way.” I teased.

He rolled over, bracing his arms on either side of my head, and we stared

at each other upside down. His thumbs swept across my cheeks and his

fingers caressed the sides of my neck up to my jaw. Tilting my neck

back, he kissed my chin, and the dip below my bottom lip. He brushed his

lips back and forth over mine, but the touch was so light, I couldn’t

even be completely sure it had happened.

“Yes, you are.” He whispered.

The Edge of Darkness is an amazing book! Love is blind, when you love someone you don't see the flaws in them, you love them for the person that they are, and that is just what happens between Ryland and Araya in the Edge of Darkness. 4 Beautiful, heart-wrenching stars!

“We live to survive and we survive to live, and in between that, we forget the point of it all.”

After a tragic accident took her mother away and left her scarred, Araya went to go live with her cold and calculating aunt and drunken uncle who didn't want her and felt burden by her. They refused to help her adjust to living as a blind girl, they made her feel helpless and not beautiful. On one of her rare occasions out of the house, Araya by chance meets Ryland Dare at the park. He asks her out but Araya leaves him hanging. What she thinks is a one time meeting turns into more when all of a sudden her aunt shows an interest and takes her to a tutor. This tutor just happens to be Ryland's sister, Cara or Careless as they call her. The more time Araya and Ryland spend together they find themselves falling in love. Ryland is the typical playboy with the world at his hands, he's set to take over his family business and his father will stop at nothing to make sure that happens, especially making sure he stays away from the blind girl he deems not good enough and a burden for his son. Ryland makes Araya see that even though she is in the darkness there is light, she is not hopeless, life is worth living. But with so many people plotting against their relationship, things begin to unravel, secrets are revealed....will Ryland and Araya's relationship survive it all or will the darkness bring them down?

"Love hard and when it’s worth it, risk it all. Don’t ever stop dreaming and reach beyond your own insecurities and touch the impossible."

Another must read! The Edge of Darkness was a beautiful, emotional, gut-clenching, love story that pulled at my heartstrings! Be warned, it does end on a cliffhanger and I am dying to get my hands on the next book in the series!!

Breaking Nova by Jessica Sorensen ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Nova Reed used to have dreams-of becoming a famous drummer, of marrying her true love. But all of that was taken away in an instant. Now she's getting by as best she can, though sometimes that means doing things the old Nova would never do. Things that are slowly eating away at her spirit. Every day blends into the next . . . until she meets Quinton Carter. His intense, honey brown eyes instantly draw her in, and he looks just about as broken as she feels inside.

Quinton once got a second chance at life-but he doesn't want it. The tattoos on his chest are a constant reminder of what he's done, what he's lost. He's sworn to never allow happiness into his life . . . but then beautiful, sweet Nova makes him smile. He knows he's too damaged to get close to her, yet she's the only one who can make him feel alive again. Quinton will have to decide: does he deserve to start over? Or should he pay for his past forever?

4 Stars!

Oh how I love anything Jessica Sorensen. Breaking Nova was another heart wrenching story that tore at my heart.
Nova has lost two of the most important people in her life, and witnessed both. After losing them, she loses herself and has no idea how to get past it. She doesn't let anyone in until she meets Quinton. At first she thinks she's drawn to him because of how much he reminds her of her deceased boyfriend. But as she gets to know him more, she realizes there's much more to him and she can't stay away.
Quinton is wallowing in self pity. When he lost the love of his life in a car wreck, that he was the driver, he vows to live his life loyal to her-never letting anyone else in. When he meets Nova he finds commonality in her sadness. He wants to see her laugh, smile, and take away her pain.

Breaking Nova was another heart breaker. Both Nova and Quinton have ignored their emotions for so long they've gone numb. Neither of them are sure how to get past their guilt or emotions regarding those that they've lost. Wondering if they could have saved them, blaming themselves for their pain.

"People say time heals all wounds, and maybe they're right. But what if the wounds don't heal correctly, like when cuts leave behind nasty scars, or when broken bones mend together, but aren't as smooth anymore? Does it mean they're really healed? Or is it that the body did what it could to fix what broke...But what exactly is broke...with me..with him...I'm not sure, but it feels like I need to find out...somehow...about him...about myself...but how the fuck do I find out about him when the only person that truly knew what was real is...gone?"

I loved the emotions that both Quinton and Nova felt throughout this. They made me want to hug them because they're just so fragile and sad, but at the same time I wanted to strangle them and yell 'GET IT TOGETHER!".

Of course this book had another cliff hanger and I am anxious to get Nova #2 already! If you've loved Jessica Sorensen's other books you won't regret reading this one either. It's not your typical happy love story but there is more than enough depth and emotion to it!! Love love love!

Mid-Life Love by Whitney G. ~ Review

BookCoverImage (3)

If you'd asked me what love was two years ago, I probably would've said, 'It's this amazing feeling that obsesses and possesses you; it's what me and my husband currently have.' If you ask me that same question today, I'll say, 'Please get the hell out of my face.’' Claire Gracen's life is picture perfect. Her career as a marketing director is on the brink of being legendary, and her marriage to her high school sweetheart has never been stronger. No, wait. It has. It used to be amazing and fulfilling, but one day Claire realizes that she's been living a lie and her best friend and husband have committed the ultimate betrayal. Broken and depressed, Claire is in need of something new—new city, new job, new friends. When she happens to attract the interest of the sexiest man she's ever met, a man significantly younger than her, she immediately turns him down—only to later discover that this man is Jonathan Statham, self-made billionaire and CEO of Statham Industries. Her boss. Jonathan Statham is unlike any man she's met before. He's used to getting whatever he wants—whenever he wants, and he isn't about to take no for an answer. Sexy, unpredictable, and charmingly clever, Mid Life Love is a story that will captivate you, entertain you, and force you to fall deeply in love with the characters.

WOWSY!!!  WOW! WOW! This book was absolutely AMAZINGLY Perfect!!!!  This has to be one of the best books this year!  Every. Single. Part. of this book was so freaking unbelievable.  Is it possible to feel each and every emotion possible?  HELL YES!  That is what this book has done to me....One minute I am laughing, irritated, happy in love, quivering from all the hot sex and then just straight up loving every bit of each emotion.  Yes, I was totally captivated, entertained and completely fell in love.  Whitney G. just blew me out of the water.  The author spent so much time creating and building this AMAZING Story.  And the story is so much better since it is told in both Claire and Jonathan's POV. But not only told in each others POV, the author also introduces us to Claire and Jonathans' life prior to the beginning of their love story.  We get to understand their stories and how they have become the people they are now.

Claire Gracen's life was picture perfect - married to her high school sweetheart, has twin daughters and has a marketing career on the brink of being legendary. That is until she finds out that her husband and BFF have been having an affair for over a year and to top it off....the BFF is pregnant with his baby. ASSHOLE!!!! What does any scorned middle aged woman do when this happens?.........Leave.......Claire was so broken, distraught and depressed and decides she needed a complete change. New life in a new city, new friends, new job....So she moves close to her mom in San Francisco and begins to rebuild a simple life with her daughters. The book begins 4 years after she divorces the scumbag cheater. She has settled into her comfortable lonely life with her new crazy funny friends and a job she hates.....and she is about to turn 40 seems to make her even more depressed......

"I was turning forty in two weeks and I was suffering from all the symptoms of a mid-life crisis!" (Claire)

Her best friend drags her to a Middle Age New Years Eve Mingle Party.....How fun does that sound? Well, Claire hated the idea but went along for her friends sake......This is where YOUNG SEXY ALPHA MALE Jonathan spots her while he is at the same hotel attending a meeting. Claire is unaware that Jonathan has noticed her and while he tries to approach several times he is pulled away for business reasons. Then SEXY Jonathan runs into her in the store days later........When helping Claire pick up her mess she has made in the grocery store, he tries to make small conversation and ask her out. She totally is caught off guard because one he is so much younger than her and two it just can't be real. Why would a young sexy man want to go out with her? Jonathan gives her his card and asked to her to call if she is ever interested. Of course days later, Claire still has not called and still contemplating if she should. Her friends continually encouraged her to replace her vibrator friends with the real thing..."get out and enjoy life"...especially with a HOT STUD!

"Do you always use your sick days to stay at home and play with yourself?" (Jonathan)

The next day the CEO of her company, who rarely has presence in the San Francisco office, decides to attend a directors meeting. While Claire sits in her normal chair in the back of the conference room, while being announced as Jonathan Statham, CEO walks in, she is listening to all the women whispering quietly about how good looking and HOT Jonathan is.....He finally comes through the door. OH...MY...GOD! The guy from the grocery store. When Jonathan scans the room, their eyes connect.....

"Are you normally this cocky? Surely you can accept the fact that I'm just not attracted to boys. Going out with you would make my life more complicated than I need it to be. You clearly can't handle rejection, probably lack of emotional maturity, and you are definitely more compatible with some vapid twenty year old who still doesn't know the difference between emotions and-" (Claire)

This was an intense sexy love story of two people trying to figure out how to not fall in love....but completely FAIL at it.....So many funny moments, tender moments, torturing moments and LOTS OF SEXY moments.

I am a wife, a mom, an author, and a lover of all things chocolate, well, anything sweet really. While stuffing chocolate in my face, I enjoy reading young adult and new adult novels furiously, and spending time with my husband and two adorable children who keep me on my peppermint pink painted toes. Those same children who inspire me to tell silly stories that cause hysterical giggles to tumble from their bellies. I love to laugh and love to have a good cry, especially after reading a novel that stretches my soul, one that makes me feel, and lingers in the corner of my heart. I’m a hopeless romantic and a happily ever after fanatic, and I love to write about LOVE. I began writing when I was in middle school, penning anything from short stories, to poetry, and then later moved on to write children’s books. I have now endeavored into New Adult and Contemporary Romance novels and am loving every minute of it. My first novel, Love Love, was released in May, 2013.

Leap of Faith by Jamie Blair ~ Blog Tour and Giveaway

Can true love be built on lies? A teen on the run seeks relief and redemption in this gripping, romantic read.
Leah Kurtz has finally found a place to call home, a town where she and baby Addy can live in peace, far from the drug-infested place she grew up. Chris is one of the best parts of her new life, the only person who’s ever made her feel safe. And now that she’s found him, there’s no way she can tell the truth:

Her real name is Faith, not Leah. She’s seventeen, not nineteen. And the baby isn’t hers—Faith kidnapped her.

Faith’s history catches up with her when a cop starts asking questions and Chris’s aunt spots her picture in the newspaper. She knows it’s time to run again, but if Faith leaves, she’ll lose Chris. If Chris is in love with a lie, though, did Faith ever really have him in the first place?

Without having anywhere else to go, I drive to Jasper, past our new house. Addy isn’t screaming anymore, but her sleep is restless. Every once in a while, she lets out a shriek.

I slow the car as we approach 356 Maple Street. The lights upstairs in our room are on. A shadow passes the window, and I strain to see inside. Chris comes into view. His hair’s pulled back. He’s shirtless, and there’s a paintbrush in his hand.

I stop at the curb and watch, hoping he won’t look out and see the car. He’s singing, and every once in a while uses the paintbrush as a microphone.

I laugh, and it echoes through the car. Addy shifts in her car seat, but stays asleep.

Chris bends, disappearing from sight for a second, then straightens and raises a Coke can to his lips as he wipes his sweaty chest with a white paint rag. A tool belt hugs his hips.

I feel hot all of a sudden and crack my window. My forehead’s slick, and I wipe it with the bottom of his t-shirt. I don’t want to leave, but the longer I stay, the higher my chances of being caught spying on him.

This is just one of those stories were you feel and hope for the characters, it's YA so it's not all sexed up. A beautiful story of one sisters hope of making a better life for her baby sister and acting on those impulses, yet going about it the wrong way, but in all the chaos finding something beautiful in her 4 stars!

"Addy," I whisper. Once you name it, it's yours. Someone said that once. I don't remember who, but it's true. I named her. She's mine."

Growing up with a junkie and a whore for a mom, to say Faith and Hope had a rough life would be putting it midly. Faith who is 16 years old saves every penny with hopes of buiding her own life and escaping her mother's prison of a home once she graduates. Hope, her oldest sister has a wonderful boyfriend and is set to go to OSU soon on a scholarship and Faith just can't fathom the idea of being left alone with her cracked out mother. When her mother gets pregnant by a drug dealer for a large payoff for the baby, Faith just can't let her baby sister grow up in that type of enviroment, she wants better for her...better than what she had. So, Faith schemes and steals her mothers money ticket, the baby who Faith has named Addy and she flees with her leaving all the crap and drama behind and starting a new life and a new future with Addy. She changes her name to Leah and claims Addy as her own. Leah has no idea how to be a mother but then she meets a family that takes her under their her a home, a job and Chris but Leah is hiding secrets from them. There she finally sees everything she ever wanted and wished for...a chance to fall in love and have a real family. Can all of Leah's hope and dreams come true? Can she an Addy have a happy life or will the past and secrets catch up with them?

"I need to be close to him. I need to feel him against me. I need to remember how it feels forever."

A beautiful, heartfelt, emotional story, that I loved. I haven't felt this way about a book in along time, it's just one of those stories I will never forget. My only complaint is the open ending, the story is not finished...I need more! After I finished, I searched the internet and looks like we will at least be getting a novella to follow up this book. I can't wait to see what is next for Faith, Chris, and Addy.
